No debate there! The Dano sound is unique and I love my Silvertone & Coral (Dano) basses! I was just playing one of my '68 Hornets and love how it sounds.

"Good sense." If Ida had good sense, I would have been an Engine Man instead of an Electronic Technician. During a radar troubleshooting lab in training school, I had one hand on the chassis (ground/earth) and the other hand brushed against the one of the three primary power fuses (3 phase power) of an AN/SPS-10 radar and I was thrown across the room like a bowling ball. Fortunately, I wasn't hurt nor did I hit anyone else in the class and the follow up mandatory EKG didn't reveal heart damage.

To that end I found a great deal on a pristine 1995 Eppi NR with the P/J pups. Very Fender sounding, very Gibson looking. Plays great albeit a bit neck heavy, she wants to hang at 3:00 with a slick strap but stays put with a grippy strap. I'll do a formal review once I've completed with the setup and have a few days playing time logged in. So far looks like a keeper, and of all things to make note of on the bass, its the tuners. I'll need to look into them a bit, some of the best feeling smoothest action pinpoint accurate tuners I've ever used.

And since it's white Wednesday, its appropriate that this bird found a new home. A 2012 Eppi CP in pristine condition with the rare pup spacing that makes these Gibson TB+ pickups sing loud and clear. It was a Craigslisting that sparked the sale but coincidentally I found out later it was also listed in the TB classifieds by one of our non frequent Tbird club members (great guy BTW). He still has his VP so I assume he'll stay in the club. I got it home this afternoon and did a quick inspection and set up and she plays even better than she looks. I'll do an in-depth review of the CP and a comparison with my Gibby Anniversary bird that has the same pickups in standard Gibby locations and my VP that has ProBuckers in pretty much the same locations as the CP. New Pickup Day!!!!

UPS delivered it around 10:30 last night. Didn't ring the bell or knock. Left it on the porch. I saw it on the camera so it was ok. But I was too lazy to go downstairs and bring it in. It took five days for the free shipping from Nashville to SoCal. Not bad. Particularly for the total price with tax at
$139.64.

Since this is probably one of the first to be seen in the wild, here are some pics.

It is dated 5/18/23 and labeled as a "Lead T-Bird Reissue." It comes with four foam mounting blocks, and a couple screws and springs:

That DC resistance matches their "neck" (lead) pickups. Typically, the bridge pickup is about 1-1.5Kohms higher.

I have two coming, probably today. The was no different option when ordering for neck or bridge. It'll be nice if one happens to be wound a touch more than the other, but if not, I'll compensate with pickup height.

I have written to the seller twice and no response. He says it is also listed on OfferUp, his preferred communication platform, but no search ever turns up his V4 within a couple hundred miles. Oh well.
