Thunderbird Club

The new Humbucker that fits under the old chrome cover as used on the SG Standard bass and the Midtown basses ohms out at about 9.9k, versus the original Mudbucker at 28 to 32k.

HUGE difference!

I've seen someone on YouTube making this measurement, but with a P10 cable connected to instrument and to multimeter.
I never found this device.

Ok, I'll take it.

You did mean Rupees, right? Maybe I better check where Rupees are right now.
Zimbabwe dollars, but the price went up a bit while you waited.

Mudbuckers were known to blow speakers if you let them.
I played my 66 Gibby EB-3, Mudbucker only, through a 63 Bassman and never had the amp's volume above "5".
FWIW, the Bass was at 10, Treble ~4, and Presence at 10. Volume on the EB-3 was 7 to 10. Filled the rooms we played(decent size bars)but not at ear-splitting levels.

great post. no reason why a single pup bass with controls dimed should not give a fairly accurate Rdc reading this way assuming a good quality instrument cable…

If that’s a modern “mudbucker”, it’d be interesting to hear how it sounds in the position they have placed it.

but in no way am I interested in any SS for $6.5k, not to mention I’ve personally never liked the idea of owning a “signature” model anything. It’s always seemed sort of cheesy to me.
I know what you mean about the Signature models, but I really like the Casady bass. I have two now.
