Thunderbird Club

If that’s a modern “mudbucker”, it’d be interesting to hear how it sounds in the position they have placed it.

but in no way am I interested in any SS for $6.5k, not to mention I’ve personally never liked the idea of owning a “signature” model anything. It’s always seemed sort of cheesy to me.
yeah, was surprised see a “new” mudbucker on this as well….

Why does it have binding? Did Gene have binding put on his 1959 EBO? That's a lot of cake for a Les Paul tribute!
I've never had a bass with a mudbucker in that position. I'm going to have to try that.

The new Humbucker that fits under the old chrome cover as used on the SG Standard bass and the Midtown basses ohms out at about 9.9k, versus the original Mudbucker at 28 to 32k.

HUGE difference!

Yeah, I have sent around 7 messages to customer service asking if there are any “chrome” rings I can get to go with the two re-issue Thunderbird pickups I just purchased directly from them. I noted that it looks like they come on the NR ‘birds around the bridge pickup.

nothing but crickets…
They at times seem to excel in doing everything a business should not do to do well. Thank goodness they find kazillions of people wanting all manner of Les Pauls to keep them afloat.

Ken has a source for rings. Also, the chrome rings from Philadelphia Luthiers will work.

I have a "signature" model. The Flamingo is the only one in existence, and it would take one billion dollars to buy it.
