Thunderbird Club

Yep. We had fun. Only made it to a couple games this season. When I was younger, we went all the time. Especially when I was in college. And then we were part of a small season ticket holder group for five years in the late eighties, early nineties. But life just got too hectic. We still enjoy going. Except they changed the Dodger Dog supplier during the pandemic and they’re terrible now. Otherwise, Go Dodgers!

Gigging musician at night.
Diver during the day.

Uhggg…

I have a single action airbrush that isn’t working due to lack of the proper size o-ring.

so I bought a dual action airbrush and the learning curve is pretty steep, I’m wasting more paint getting used to it than I am putting on the project….

still on target to finish paint today on the DC telecaster…

tomorrow I’ll be working on the headless NR… maybe I’ll name her Marie… or Anne…

A little more sanding and this Epi neck will be ready for Tung oil. I won’t be able to get 100% of the stain out of the pores (especially on the end grain at the heel) without removing more wood than I want to.
I thought Epi Tbird bolt-on necks were mahogany, but this is maple.
Conversely I thought all Casady basses had maple necks, but my Goldtop’s is mahogany.

I vote for Anne or Natalie.

I use a double action brush with my model trains a lot, just practice with something other than your paint for awhile, it's not all that hard, but there's a learning curve on your "hand motion" as you pass the brush over the surface. The other thing is to treat the paint as a "system" that requires the use of proper thinning etc.

First coat of tung oil. You apply with a rag, wait 10 minutes and then buff it with another rag.
Then you have to wait 24 hours, go over it with 0000 steel wool and apply another coat. If you want it shinier, keep adding more coats every 24 hours.
I never do more than 2.

oh and there’s a danger of SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION, so be you need to be careful with the rags. I just drape them over the edge of the garbage can until they are completely dry.
