Thunderbird Club

You've all enabled! Still need a legit NR......

The bastards at Houston central location sold 'er from under me. But I'm headed past north side store tomorrow so should be fine.

I REALLY wanted to play the damn thing tonight on the rowdy blues trio gig.
Get a ‘21. They are great Thunderbirds. I love mine.

That's cheap for a Lull now. Their TBirds are discontinued and Spencer won't sell the pickups solo. But ordering a JT (jazz body with TBird pickups ) is coming in over 5k now.

You can still get a Lull Thunderbird, they can't advertise them (because Gibson), when I was last at the shop this blue T5 was hanging up for sale, as the buyer had welched at the last minute..........
It was Spencer's decision to discontinue selling the pickups separately as he felt it diluted the brand, he didn't want folks putting them in just any bass and then saying "it's a good as a Lull". The only reason I got one earlier this year was because Mike and I made a deal for me to be an endorsing artist back in 2008. At the time I wanted to be able to say that publicly, like in my Sig here, I don't get a break on price, didn't want one, just wanted people to know that I was involved with the first and (to me) best reissue Thunderbird pickup.

I like that the Newport has the mudbucker, but I’m not a fan of the 30” scale.. the Embassy is especially awesome, and even at full msrp it’s a steal. A single mudbucker in an embassy would be quite the thing…

the 21 NR is fabulous… and I do happen to have one collecting dust… along with an unloved greco..

Well, you do march to the beat of a different drum. Nothing wrong with that. The ‘21 is my #2. The ‘’15 is and will always be #1. Play the ‘21. Fabulous pickups. Stainless rounds and you’re set.

My ‘21 is my #2 or #3 haven’t decided for sure… the inverness is just a spare I don’t need… and it has frets..

my #1 has the bridge pickup from my burgundy in it…

There's something to be said about a blue Bird.
