As Ken said, it’s hard to compare based on vids. There are too many variables. And individual preferences. Not to mention differences in what each of us hear. You really can’t go wrong which ever way you go so long as it pleases you. And there are a lot of 760 Probuckers starting to show up used. They were hard to find for the first three or so years.
Anytime.all the more reason to come visit you Sir!
Thought that was a Pbass.
I think you should buy a set. We trust your judgment. And yet something else to try. Maybe on a VP. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/du...kel-steel-for-bold-assertive-grooves.1625604/

Why do you want to pot them? Do you have feedback issues?
I may next string order. I do like Dunlop strings and other products. And my money stays in California.I think you should buy a set. We trust your judgment.![]()
Ah. Gibson marketing. Why they don’t just say that they are “DeCola’s tried and true wonderful EB pickups with the addition of an active circuit designed with Rex’s input to bring out the best in Thunderbird tone.” I’d buy one based on that description. Not feedback but they're microphonic and extremely sensitive to my fingertips and pick. They sound good and the active circuit (no tone boost/cut) sounds good, just sounds like a clear bass tone, what I expect but even better - except for all the extraneous noise.
I'll get round to the control circuit in the next day or so - already had these pics as they were sent to my shop/Gibson about the microphony. And also because I pointed out the bass was marketed as having pickups specially designed by Rex and DeCola. Which is complete bollox! They haven't responded to that part of my comments.
It's also the same pickup in the Les Paul Tribute. I haven't noticed it being microphonic, but I was surprised it was just loose in the cover. (I put it in a chrome cover). Not feedback but they're microphonic and extremely sensitive to my fingertips and pick. Does it switch in a capacitor when you engage the coil split?
The Dicola pickups, available in a Thunderbird for 2015 only, are what make the ‘15 a desirable addition to any Thunderbird flock.

Lucky for me, i may just end up pulling the trigger on those from Reverb.com. at 250$ cad free ship, can't go wrong
I have never played a set of Dunlops. I need to do that.I may next string order. I do like Dunlop strings and other products. And my money stays in California.
dude in the middle's just miffed cause of the way his girlfriend is looking at Miles....
We drove to Nashville a few days ago just to get out and eat at "Jack's." (That's how much we like good BBQ!) Killer BBQ--and the sides all worth going there to as as well--and you get a plate full not the typical thimble size sides. Always great food. There are a few other great places there as well, but Jack's is like home.
Dude in the middle must be "wanted" since he didn't look to happy!~![]()
Thanks for the reminder. I need another rack. Two more in cases.
