Come on, live a little!Never tried that one... (most likely won't either!)![]()

AND appreciate good whiskey….I’m in the Macrae clan, Scottish highlands in the Kintail area. According to wiki…
“Clan Macrae of Kintail were famous throughout Scotland for cooking high quality moonshine, or "peatreek" in Scots, from illegal pot stills”
In hindsight, I guess it made perfect sense that I lived in Kentucky for nearly 40 years.
Funny, I got a remark tonight from someone who was at my last gig, that my CP sounded like a Hofner, esp during our rendition of Hey Bulldog by the Beatles... That was through a GK 800RB>small 215 cab.
I in fact thought it was 'Rickenbacker-like' upon seeing a vid of us when I was playing through a mid-90s Peavey TNT combo a few months ago.
Getting Rickie vibes from my TB+ equipped Classic Pro. Funny. Didn't expect that. Anyone else get that, or is it just my mojo?? Can't be...

Macca always sounds like Macca whether he's playing a Hofner, a Ric, or a Fender. He would probably sound like Macca playing a Thunderbird. Even if you play a Hofner, good luck sounding like Macca. It's one of those things I never worry about when playing Beatles songs. Nobody sounds like him, even if you play with a pick up by the fretboard.TSC's plays Hey Bulldog also.PM's (pick'd) bass-lines are really fun right? I don't think it ever sounds like a Hofner regardless of what bass I use. My Custom Kraft hollow-body would have come closest but I only used it once live and HB wasn't on the set-list..
And most definitely it's your mojo.

learned Steely Dan’s Black Cow for tomorrow…..seems like that song visits all 12 positions on the neck in typical Steely Dan fashion lol…..this one is pretty popular too….
Careful, you’ll be accused of being from Liverpool.Macca always sounds like Macca whether he's playing a Hofner, a Ric, or a Fender. He would probably sound like Macca playing a Thunderbird. Paul's playing is some of my favorite, maybe because it's the closest to my early musical experience, from childhood.TSC's plays Hey Bulldog also.PM's (pick'd) bass-lines are really fun right? It's always interesting to hear someone else play your bass... Now I want to set up the Zoom at the next gig and invite someone up to play a couple tunes...Always the player - easy way to test that is to have a good player play your bass. It'll sound totally different than the way you hear yourself playing it. Not meaning a 'better' player - but a player as good as you focusing on how they play resulting in how it sounds.

I have been fortunate. I’ve been looking for a G3,Grabber or Ripper for a couple of years now. The prices on those have gone up substantially in the last few years. You have taken up the Duke0Frock deal finding habit. Well done!

There is no way that I was going to pay $3000 + on Reverb for a beat up specimen.
What got me on this one was that it was advertised as mint and it was close by.
The seller was asking $1800 and we settled on $1550. I consider this one to be investment grade.
I went over it carefully last night and did find a scuff on the back of the lower bout.I’ll post the picture
No belt rash either.
The seller even apologized about thumb prints on the tuners.
I remember when they were practically giving these away. Mrs Gator loves natural wood guitars so she practically pushed me out the door to go pick it up.
I put a dime next to the “damage” maybe I should return it.
Cheers!
