Thunderbird Club

I was at my local GC today and they had this Epi 60's thunderbird and man I was sweating I was so close to buying it. It had a nice flame to the top, great action, great sounding pickups, and NO neck dive!! Someone please buy this before I do

Thanks a million!

I was getting a little hung up on the similar impedance in each position (Les Paul player where that’s almost a necessity) but I’ll take the word of the experts. Also the price isn’t bad at all.

Do you have preferred pot values for the 60s tones? I’m seeing some different/conflicting info out there so far.

my three point bridge also may need a replacement. Looks like the a string saddle is kind of jacked up - literally.

Thank you all for the warm welcome

Pot values to me, are a personal preference.
i recently wanted to tame a humbucker so i replaced the 500k with a 250k.
It took away some highs and smoothed out the tone.

I don't have quite the array of basses and pick ups that some of our people have here.
But i do have Lollars, Thunderbuckers and a Sidewinder.
All sound different, and my explanation wouldn't do much good.
Only your ears can tell you what you'll like.

But i will say from what i've heard in real life situations......
That Lulls, SideWinders and ThunderBuckers are my top favs.
YMMV.
Oh, and the pick-ups that are in the Greco Tbirds.

You mean GC here in town actually has something I would be interested in and Thunderbird related? What's the world coming to?

I do not need a 3rd VP/60s Thunderbird...

The only thing keeping me from buying it is that I've been saving up for an aguilar tonehammer and some cabs. t

I'll have to have a look at a couple of my Birds for pot values, but I'm hoping some of my guys here will chime in too.
We encourage questions here so do feel free to ask, the "search" function isn't great.
Post us a picture of your Orville when you have a chance I will add you to the club if you like.
