Many years ago, I did take the hypocritic oath.Hypocrisy? Where? Did I miss something?![]()

This riff sound reminiscent of anything?
Man. That’s s close.I was feeling a little underwhelmed by the sound of the pickups in my Orville. But I realized they were down kinda low, so I shoved some foam under them and got them adjusted as high as they can go without string contact (well not much contact).
I played at last night’s Code Delta practice and YOWZA! That’s the ticket, especially with a pick

Black Flag was the original L.A. punk band. The Minutemen came along a couple years later, along with X. Late seventies, early eighties. Good times.I really like it. I’m a late convert to this genre/style; bought my first Black Flag and Minutemen recordings in 2019.

I was in a bit of a strange musical place back then. I wasn’t a fan of hair/glam metal and while I’m not stupid enough to ignore the impact and importance of Van Halen, I didn’t own any of their albums. Nor was I into straight ahead punk when it was new and vibrant. Nor was I a big prog fan with the exception of Beat-era King Crimson. Besides consistently re-visiting the Allman Brothers’ Live at Fillmore East, the John Coltrane Quartet's Live at Birdland, and Miles Davis’s Pangaea, I really liked Keith Richards’ Talk is Cheap, Steve Earle’s Copperhead Road, Midnight Oil (punk influenced), INXS, GnR, and Iron Maiden (sort of a dual guitar substitute for the Allman Brothers + horror movie lyrics).Black Flag was the original L.A. punk band. We had a great time taking in @Ringhammer *s amazingly tight hard rock trio Bad Lemon at Hotel Utah in S.F. last night. His playing and Thunderbird through his Orange rig sounded great!

Wanna borrow my flip phone? Thanks Jeff. Turned out pretty good for an old iPhone 8.

Yep, apparently Kurt Whatshisname "borrowed" the main riff for Come as You Are.
I got to know Killing Joke a bit when some young lads covered a different song of theirs way back when. I prefer the KJ version these days though.
We had that discussion.Wanna borrow my flip phone?![]()
