Thunderbird Club

Too bad Joe Bonamassa doesn't play bass. Gibson wants to put his name on all of their electric guitars.

He has a couple of other signature Les Paul's, a Firebird and an Epi LP. The above "BonaByrd" goes for around $6k.

Nothing against the Epi Thunderbirds but couldn't the company also do something interesting with a Gibson bass (that doesn't necessarily run $2k)?

Mystery to me...
Exactly! A mystery to me too. I just see his name on all this gear (amps and other stuff). And I am like, ***?

And that was my point. The Gibson "brain trust" must think "this guy" (not a household name) helps sell their guitars. Why not make a little effort with basses (not with his name - just using him and his gear as another odd example of Gibson's business model)?

Who's Joe Bonamossa?
:D Joe is right there with with all the other guitar gods in my book! He and Derek Trucks will carry the Clapton, Gibbons, Stevie Ray tradition long after those guys pass(ed) on. In fact I hear Clapton is already having serious playability problems. Now all I need to be whole is a solid replacement for David Gilmour.

Here's a fine guitar wankfest with a side serving of Dusty Hill...

Enjoy

Right? There are plenty of other Gibson players. Including bassists. Make a Shavo signature T-bird, maybe.

...but the big question is:

Which tuner is best for metal??? ;)
Well, Catapult uses Boss TU-3s and TU-2s. So I would say that.

Meh, not really much into blues guitar wankery. I guess not really into guitar solos in general. Seems very blues lawyery. Which I guess is Gibson's core market these days, since their guitars are priced out of range of everyone else :p

What makes you think metal players worry about playing in tune? ;)
Because we do? It's very important to get a tuner that can track low tunings.

Yep - he's a blues dude. Excellent guitarist, but I find a little goes a long way...
