Thunderbird Club

We flew to Martha's Vineyard for a wedding. When we boarded the plane I noticed two female pilots doing pre check. I told Mrs. Gator that at least they wont be arguing about directions. Both ladies cracked up. :)
Congratulations on your future pilot.
I forwarded this to my daughter. She cracked up too. Truth be told, she really likes the pilots she works with.

amazing how good this valvetrain looks after almost 100k miles….:woot:
I replaced my Greco 3-point bridge with and Epiphone 3-point AND the screws. They were a direct fit with the Greco body inserts. I believe that means the Hipshot would fit the Greco as well since the Hipshot fits both Gibson and Epi Tbirds.
exactly, the Greco tailpiece was giving me a hard time with the E string silk…..

so I replaced it with a more traditional design (which is more rounded at the bottom requiring bigger screws)…….replacement of the three point for a Badbird (V has the same on her Greco) confirms the Hipshot will fit the Greco since it (Badbird) was designed for Gibsons and Eppis using three points…..

Sorry Mike. I will never, ever, step foot in Florida. Personal and political reasons. Only been there once. In ‘67. Dad was being transferred to the Cape. Mom said no way after the visit. So we stayed in Cali. And Dad got a different job. Which turned out being a lot better than the transfer (which was to have been the manned orbiting laboratory project that tricky Dick canceled).

Cool. I had a YC45D. Weighed a ton. It died. No matter what key you pressed, it always squealed the same note. Ran it through a Leslie sim-that also died-into a P____KB300. With all the buttons/switches/etc. it almost sounded like a Hammond. Or harpsichord, or bells, or...

I used to work on those, great keyboard..

Hey there, I'm new and I just got an Epiphone Thunderbird bass and I'm loving it. I've heard if you get a thick strap it can fix the neck dive but I'm not sure. Do any of you know?

Welcome here!

A wider leather strap will like help you, I also keep the strap a bit shorter and my right hand rests on the upper 'bout.
Please do feel free to join our conversation here, post us a picture of your new Thunderbird too :)

Congratulations! Post a pic and get a number. Which Epi?

Italia 4” stripes cure it 100%. There are other options. But out of all my birds, only one dives. My ‘17 Epi Vintage Pro. Strap fixed it right up.

I know you like there Mike, but it's a bit too flat and humid for me. Yes the beaches are beautiful sand with lots of tanned folks running around them.
Washington is just has a lot more to offer scenically and sometimes it's really cool to be at the beach when it's stormy or in the mountains for a hike. When it's Summer here it's a slice of heaven.

Beautiful!!!!

Speaking of summer…can we finalize a date? I really need to lock in the calendar to be able to come. And my wife might come with and visit her cousin and his son (who is a diver at the aquarium, he and Ken would be great buds).

Don’t mean to be a pain V, but my stuff books out over a year in advance. I can’t wait to retire.
