Thunderbird Club

In the words of Dogbert, "Puns: Never apologize, never explain!" (And to me, at least, t'was obvious what you meant, despite never having met the Lake City HS cheerleaders.)
Neither have I. The story was related to me by a once-close friend. It was obscure enuff that I felt a need to clarify.

Tab - probably the nastiest soft drink ever. At the age of 15, I spent an August day in Atlanta working on and in a big steel box. The water was a day late being turned on at this property and the only thing available to drink was Tab. Of course we only found this out after we were on the clock. I already disliked Tab, but after drinking close to a case of it just to keep up with sweat loss, I hated it with a perfect hatred[1]. Still do.

[1] Even though it kept me alive, or at least out of the ER.
Fresca any day….

I actually like Fresca once in a while. Seems to help a little if you have some throat/chest congestion. Weird, I know and possibly coincidental.

When we were kids and were sick, we'd be given 7-Up to drink. Not sure why... southing?

Tab was the only drink on site.

You mean your buddy thought Quatermass would be bigger? 'Cause Purple definitely got big or actually already were at that time (1970).
Who knows, if they (Quatermass) hadn't split up. They had the talent, good material (especially the songs provided by Paul Hammond had some hit potential, "Black Sheep Of The Family" especially) and compared to ELP they knew how to rock. ELP's rock playing was always a bit awkward and I mostly blame Carl Palmer for that. Greg Lake could have been a good rock screamer for any hard rock band but think of Carl in Deep Purple for example....
“mostly blame Carl Palmer”….
