Hatuey or Goya Malta became an acquired taste since I lived in Miami.

India has always sold best here (PR)….they make it 0 sugar now too….definitely an acquired taste (Rosa swore it had alcohol) as it tastes so intense…..

7-Up (at least what we get here) is what we call Lemonade. Often prescribed (some say it should be flat) for stomach upsets. That or Lemonade Icy Poles (ice blocks).

Dad used to mix a heaped teaspoon of bicarb of soda in a glass of water and we’d have to drink it right down.
Either it would fix it, or we’d throw up. Which fixed it as well.

The main Lemonade brands when I was a kid were Shelley’s (a local Sydney brand), Schweppes and Leed. Then through my teens Sprite came in. Later still 7-up came in (for Leed?) and Shelley’s died and was replaced by Kirk’s.
Our Lemonade is a clear carbonated drink. We have another class of lemon flavoured soft drink that we call Lemon Squash. It has a lemony colour to it and is less carbonated. Main brands Solo and Kirk’s. But it is also a pub drink for non drinkers and there are fancier can/bottled versions like Bundaberg of which there is an alcohol version as well.

I go weeks avoiding sugar. Then someone brings candy. And I binge. I’m 5’8”, 160. My target is 145. It’ll never happen.
