Speaking of EQ's... in an attempt to 'tame' my B9 pedal surging due to overpowering bass frequencies - I think I've succeeded. It hopefully will allow me to use it on 'History Repeating' (posted earlier) live, where it was always difficult to manage*. (2 set BG gig in SF tomorrow) I isolated it as I'm happy with my current pedal-train and don't want it interfering when not using. That and 'stomping' on it's 'trigger' sometimes shifted the B9 mode. (detrimentally) So now - the small box provides easy on-off of the desired & now controlled effect.

*I personally feel as cool a pedal as it is... it's not great for bass as low frequencies overload it. I think it was voiced for guitars and has added low-frequencies built-in.

Thanks Mike This and 3 other recent professional recordings of BG were long overdue. Many reasons for that over nearly 10 yrs of my association with her (nothing to do with me!) - just happy to help give Cherie her due as a BL and performer. She's a rock-star.

Here is the inside of a A5 T bird remake. It's just two A5 magnets in a slightly different size than standard Humbucker.

If a Greco is different does anyone have one to send in? I got this original remake from @58kites. Getting ready to send it back when I get the first A5/Neo 916 T Birds done

Define reasonable. Heck, I would spend too much for a set after all the raves around here. Curiosity can be expensive. Maybe buying a Greco 'Bird is a better idea.

This pickup was pulled out of a working bass . I guess it fits.I do not have a Bird here. It's not easy finding info on this Greco bird pickup. I did find one pic. Not sure what's going on here but it looks kinda like the Japanese pulled a Jimmy Page and put ceramic under the coils , but the markings on the two bars are off. One should have a mark for north and one not visible to indicate south. Can anyone get a coil read via the jack? Maybe it's a overwound pickup. The Japanese like to use #44awg wire

I don't know if/how the early Grecos differ from the 88-90 Grecos (which is what I have). I'm not averse to loaning one to get the specs in place for producing more, so long as reverse-engineering doesn't destroy the pickup.

From the one picture I found it looks as if the pickup is potted in a 2 part casting resin. If so the pickup could be damaged in reverse engineering requiring the coil or coils to need rewind. A pickup reading straight from pickup or even a reading via the jack would be helpful. Some quality pictures with a pro camera or a newer I phone would be helpful if sending in the pickup is not a option. The only pic I found was shot with a Potato.

Someone eventually removed the resin cover and reverse engineered the circuit destroying their original. I built a couple Klon Clones for Christmas presents and the circuit sounds fantastic on electric guitars. Not sure I would personally sacrifice a Greco pickup myself…
It would be sweet to buy a true Greco Pick up replica!

I saw the new Jason Statham movie “The Beekeeper”. Good premise, I think it will become a bit of a franchise. Anyway if you like bash ‘em up, shoot ‘em up type movies go see it. I liked it a lot.

I think the next book I’ll read will be this one. I’m hoping it will be an interesting story as they go way way back as a company. I’ll just finish part 9 of The Last Kingdom series first - 90% done.

Well, if I’m reading this correctly, the book says there were no Rivolis made in 1962. It jumps from 61 to 63.
