Thunderbird Club

wanted one soooo bad, Chis Squire played one, Geddy Lee played one, Paul Goddard played one and so on…..there was too much going on for me…that weird bridge, that stereo wiring, anemic neck pup, weird neck, no real thumb rest, no offense to any fan but they felt kinda “cheap”….(purely subjective of course)…
And Glenn Hughes with his Fireglo when he played with Deep Purple-

Went to the record store (can’t remember which) at midnight to be one of the first to get it.
We bought our new releases back in the day at Licorice Pizza on Newport Blvd. Releases were on Tuesdays back in the day. The line started forming on Monday night. It was a great party more than anything else. I recall doing that for Darkness On the Edge of Town, Rust Never Sleeps, Parallel Lines and London Calling.

I’d still take the right one.
Too bad this one had a twisted neck.

Mine looked like this, except I had played it - a lot! Wore through the clear coat on most of the fretboard, paint was gone from most of the back of the neck and I'd chowdered the backside of the body pretty badly - I miss that bass, weak neck pickup and all!

that rig must have KILLED…..Geddy would probably approve……wish I would have tried one with the Leo Quan bridge, something tells me (dunno, could be totally wrong) that it would favor those basses from a fingerstyle standpoint….

The Leo Quan, IIRC, has to be routed down into the body, as the early versions were too tall for the Ric. The new Hipshot bridges are much better, but I don't have much of an issue with the original bridges, I keep the pickup cover on and play finger style between the cover and the neck pickup. I can see playing near the bridge could be a pain, though.

I don’t think I’ve said much about the ‘24 Crosstrek I got last month. It’s an all wheel drive tool for the snow. Comfortable enough, handles really well and doesn’t look terrible. But at the end of the day, it’s just a car.

I like Crosstrek's a lot, I'd probably have one already except it wouldn't haul my rig and kit to an out of town show, plus I have two Outbacks that are in reasonable shape.

I had a redheaded (with freckles) gf for a brief period... alas, wasn't meant to be. ~sigh~ :)

This redhead, she was a burlesque girl, I liked her so much, went out with her.........Just didn't work

I love my 4003 Fireglo- fantastic quality of build and craftsmanship and definitely not hard on the eyes, but she did make my left pec hurt with her square-edged upper horn until she broke me in!

My '63 II made the same "impression" on my ribcage ... I still have a 'tender' spot there.
