Thunderbird Club

Yep. But to compare native pickup voicing it is a plus. I’m thinking that may be my birthday present. I really want to keep it simple until I have time to really get into the whole recording thing. And it looks like it doesn’t get much simpler than that.

Thank you for doing that Ken. Much appreciated.

As an aside, can you make it out to Seattle for the GTG? Maybe arrive Thursday and leave Monday? Only burns three PTO/vacation days. And gives you enough time to meet the best coasters in person. Relax a bit, play some basses, take in some sights….
Highly doubtful.

That is a new source from my research not that long ago. I’m going to have a VP with a broken neck routed and fitted for an Epi IV neck I have and make a 60’s II. Put a Gibson vintage reissue in it, paint it Pelham Blue and see what it’s like.

DUDE!! It wasn’t until your reply that I made the brew connection! A few years ago I got to taste one of those black clad brews, courtesy of a guitarist friend- love ‘em!!
The Firestones are fabulous California Central Coast beers. Until they came along, there were great wines from the area, but really no beers of note. I’m a fan.

Firestone Walker?

I’m sad to hear that. I need to get to Brooklyn.
You do. And you have an "in" in the airline industry!

Always a nice choice. As I think I told you, I had the opportunity to taste it before they released it. It isn’t my favorite of theirs (I’m a dark beer guy), but I told them that I thought it would have mass appeal.

Another brew my guitarist friend shared with me were some 20 oz plus dark offerings by the Russian River folks- talk about bubbly ambrosia!

Donnie? Glenn? Roger? Brian? Bob? Anyone else back east? Or is Bob back in Peru? Or from anywhere for that matter. Oz, Finland, Sweden, the UK, the Netherlands, Japan, China, Indonesia, if you can make it, it will be a very memorable experience for all of you. And let’s do what we can to get that crazy guy from Albuquerque to come out.

TBH I can’t see it happening. Not this year, but who knows in the future.

As an avid skier, I’ve had a lot of experience in the snow and on ice. And with the place in the mountains, I have more. But that didn’t stop me from totaling my new to me ‘22 Outback last year. Went around a corner at around 15 MPH and the huge bolder that apparently just came down and was in the middle of the road did me and the car in. Came to find out that it had been called in about an hour before, and the association maintenance people were on their way. I was a bit pissed that whoever knew it was there didn’t put out flares, cones, or anything on the top before the corner to warn about it.

yikes!

Retiring in July, I’ve put my notice in. Even better, I’m taking Long Service leave from Easter.

Im just over it all.
That's great. Very happy for you, Geoff.

I can't say I want to retire. I think about it some, but figure I will get to the point one day when I know I'm just done with it all. But at this point I don't want that to be anytime soon. My wife retired early and would be happy if I did, but I just don't have the urge to do so. I also don't want to wait so long all I can do just sit in a rocker in poor health and wait for my ticket to be called. I've got to get out West before that happens. Several times maybe.

Thanks George.

My theory is that I don’t know if I have 10 years life left (or 10 months or 10 days)… so time to stop work while I’m well enough and active enough to enjoy it.

My Dad retired at 62 and did some stuff but by 65 he had a bad cancer. Of the remaining 17 years he had far too many of them that were a trial rather than a joy.

(I turned 62 a couple of weeks ago. So born in 62, retire at 62 has a nice symmetry to it).
Happy belated BD, Mate! Have a Guinness on me!
