I think only if you don't intend to take the strap off often.
Is there nothing a Thunderbird bass or guitar can't do?

That is the plan! Great minds and all that....
But so versatile.
There's nothing a Thunderbird can't do.
Loved the clip....watch the last few seconds of it to see how so many TBird headstocks got snapped off.
Nick was either doing some great palm muting or he had foam under the strings. Great old school thump.

Felt mutes on copper supports were standard equipment.
Thanks to everyone for the "congrats" on the cherry t-bird acquisition. I was on my way to a gig when I finalized the deal. I will post up some pics when it arrives.

I use a Pedaltrain Booster as Pedal board. Works great, and super cheap.
Late on the strap lock thread, but I've been using Loxx since I got the Thunderbird. Sorry if you said that you don't want to replace the strap pin, but if you don't mind doing that, the Loxx has been absolutely bulletproof and the strap end sits very close to the bass, practically flush. Only downside is that you can't use a regular strap end with it. After forgetting my strap a few times I finally just got another strap and more Loxx buttons and that strap never leaves my bag.
I also do the same duplication with cables and AC adapter for my pedals. Cheap insurance.

You can get a pile of them for a couple bucks from any brewery supply. They are consumables, so once it's not holding the tension you want, chuck it and replace.

- I have 2 of the brass mutes, one w/orig white felt blocks in like-new condition which will stay with my '64. The other came off my (long ago stolen) '63 II and doesn't have the felt pads.
