Thunderbird Club

I was watching a Mecum from 2023 and couldn't believe someone didn't buy this. Very reasonable. A fraction of the cost of one of bazillion Mustangs, Camaros and late '50s Chevys. This thing is gorgeous and a head-turner. Can't imagine cruzin down the road in this. The side view is amazing.

'Cos people are bonkers over the tri-five Chevys and Camaros, Challengers, and Mustangs. None of which interest me in the least.

so many incredible cars get crappy wraps….good thing, makes them more available to us……
if I could only go back in time…..

the difference between 13 seconds and 11 seconds can be tens of thousands of dollars, I'd rather look good doing 55mph...

California dream.
A great band by a beautiful lake in early July, it's a splendid memory.

Our group is all in their 70s. Each guy sets up his own [stuff], which in my case means bass amp(usually Rumble 100-or 200c), PA(JBL EON ONE*)and mixer(Yamaha-ha-ha EMX512), mic stand, music stand, bass, and stool.
After a gig we help others once we've got our own [stuff] stashed. Maybe.

Do you use large stools or just samples?

I quit caring 'bout "looking good" years ago when I bought my first van*(that would hold all my bigass gig gear).

Still don't care but gig gear is smaller.

Not at this point. You’re a lot younger than me. Heck, just going to see Nikki last Thursday night was tough. But very fun. I hit the “office” at 6:00 and sign off at 5:00 - 5:30. With the stress of what I do, it’s tough. Growing old is getting old.

Growing old doesn't mean getting old, not in my book.

Yes!

Some love fast and I get it and am not knocking it, but I personally don't need a vehicle that can potentially do 200MPH--or just look like it could. Just not my thing.

Who's the dude with a camera photobombing your pic?

Oh...he looks familiar.:smug:

Sometimes you meet someone that you wish you'd known all your life because they're just so nice - these two guys, Jeff and Chuck, I wish I could met both of them 40 years ago.

Yep! I retain my juvenile sense of humor because being serious all the time just seems like a sucky way to go through life. Enough of life can be a drag as it is.

Precisely Donnie! All that being serious stuff just isn't worth it.
I mean, i get the whole nose to grindstone thing, wanting to make something of oneself.
But the bigger question, are they truly happy?

@Engle Irv, I don't know a thing about 3D printers and assume the material is limited, but could you make custom picks? I'm not asking for some as I like my Fenders just fine, just wondering what the possibilities are. Maybe that's not even interesting to think about. Likely no reason to reinvent the wheel.
The material I'm using is called PLA. It wouldn't make a very durable pick, but there are other choices. I haven't looked into them yet.
It's been a fairly steep learning curve figuring out how to go from concept to finished piece. The bridge cover spacers took about 3 hours of trying different ways to get a printable image.

I just made a replacement PU trim ring for my Casady. Luckily I was able to find the file online, so it didn't take too long to print. But getting it to look decent required sanding, primer, and paint.
