Thunderbird Club

It turns out a thunderbird can play ac/dc! Bridge on full, neck on a quarter and life is good!
I'm pretty sure original AC/DC bass player Mark Evans might have a word with you over that. When he wasn't playing his Fender P-bass, he used the odd Thunderbird once in a while, and it was the one without a bridge pickup.

Mona is visiting Seattle and you're not?

FWIW the weather here is grim - in a way that only Seattle can be, 35 degrees rain/snow for at least 8 days straight,
90 early this week, 55 one day, 45 the next, 75 yesterday, 85 today. I call it the CenTex Weather Coaster.

Just one more reason Texas and I will remain distant.....
You haven't even mentioned the oppressive humidity!

I remember there being a 63 model for neck and bridge. Also a 66 model for neck & bridge. Seems like there was a 66 version that was wound hotter (66S?) that Carlo recommended for single pickup basses. I need to check the output on mine.
That matches what I remember.

Sounds like Sydney this week.
Thursday 40c followed by a hail storm in some outer west suburbs. Last official day of Summer. Out wit a bang!
Friday 30c with oppressive humidity
Saturday mid 20s, overcast and occasional drizzle. First day of Autumn.
Sunday (today) scheduled for 31c here but already (not yet 10am) 22c with 80% humidity. I plan to mow the lawn before the footy starts. Then a beer and a TV are in my future.

He used a Ripper as well, orange sunburst or something else unusual. Rare even.

He used a Tbird or two during his Rose Tattoo stint, as did an earlier Tatt’s bassist, Geordie Leach.

Since we're talking AC/DC...

AC/DC with Dave Evans, this is the band in their earliest days, sounding very much like a Glam band. And if Bon Scott hadn't had any say in this, they probably wouldn't have survived until the present day. Still, Evans wasn't a bad vocalist, but seeing what Bon and later Brian brought to the table, he was nothing special. (This clip is also cool because you can see Malcolm doing leads, which is something he dropped completely, once the band had Bon.)
