I will plug up that little hole where the volume pot was, though.
Cool. Thanks for the chiming in, everybody!

You missed 30 pages of important stuffSo.... went away for vacation in the DR for a week, and swore off the internet...
30 pages later.... let me know if I missed anything important.
Yeah dude. Catch up.You missed 30 pages of important stuff
Zippers, man, zippers.
FRANKS AND BEANS!It is a concern! Back in '88 we were playing a gig, break between 2nd and 3rd set, our guitarist (who always had a bit of an attitude) hits the restroom to get rid of some beer only on the zip up he catches skin and he caught it GOOD!Could not get it un-caught! I $hit you not, he played the 3rd set with his zipper down and his junk a captive! Played the entire set like a statue with his guitar in front of the affected area and white as a ghost! The drummer and I lauged the whole set! This was a karma thing to us!
End of the set he was GONE in a flash (pardon the pun!) and headed to the hospital where we heard it was a major affair to release the hound! All these years later I still chuckle over that one!

It's funny how certain amps appeal to some and not others. I've never played through an SWR that I liked. Never sounded good to me. GK always sounds great to me. I'm interested to try out an Orange from the video demo I saw, though I don't like built-in overdrive since I don't always know what amp I'll be playing through so a pedal works better for me.
Gross anatomy has never been a focus for me, ew... but I can get along with a little dystopian sci-fi punk motif ( read: "tight budgeting").
I wonder if it's possible to match this matte black finish? At this point though, shelling out for it may just leave the door open for that Blade Runner theme! In my life, just now, it's a small point. But it's become a more interesting bass, sonically-speaking.
When you think back to those times you laughed harder than almost any other time ever, that's one of those moments. When they actually showed it. It was painful.FRANKS AND BEANS!
How did you get the beans above the frank?
Oh, it's not that factor. It's that I could be using any amp at any given time, depending on where I happen to be playing. So I can't unfortunately rely on the amp itself.I use an Orange OB-1 and the overdrive is foot switchable, just like a pedal. Can be turned off completely. The amp sounds great clean and the overdrive channel has no low end loss, like a lot of stomp boxes. I bought it for the class A solid state tone (no more tunes for me) and the overdrive is a bonus.
.View attachment 1108169 Hi all. New Used Bass Day for me. Keeping it 'Bird like. A 2012 Schecter Ultra Bass. Plays like a dream. Not so sure about the stock EMGs but they'll do for now and the Tune-O-Matic seems pretty easy to use. Have a great Sunday.

I could do this... nice idea. The only thing that buggers me out is making the finish 'invisible'..not into gross anatomy either, but a red wire sticking out is visually allusive...
A matte rattle-can finish is probably the easiest for someone not versed in sprayed finishes, but the hard part is in the filling/repair of any cavities. Simply filling a cavity will ghost through a finish over time as it cures. (you'll see where it was) There are on-line tutorials on this - I saw one more recently from Stew Mac, but it's basically layering a thin (1/8") plank over a larger area than the routs that follows logical joints or stops. So, on your T-bird - between the neck pu rout bottom and the butt conforming side-to-side at the raised center section. That area needs to be routed lower by 1/8" and the plank glued in it's place. The only 'seams' will be very small (on either side of the thin section under the neck pu) so even if they ghost through - no-one would really 'see' them. You will need to re-align and drill the 3 bridge holes in the plank - it will also take care of/eliminate the small holes under the bridge area. So you need a router, router skills, clamps and basic woodworking skills to do it seamlessly.

Love the color. Where did you find it? You guys were talking about the bygone era of cool NYC music shops the other day. So, I was curious if you found it in bricks-and-mortar or online (CL, Reverb, etc.).View attachment 1108169 Hi all. New Used Bass Day for me. Keeping it 'Bird like. A 2012 Schecter Ultra Bass. Not a bad thing idea! I would like to find a black pickguard as well..
