Just the thought of it makes me sick.
I like them fried and a few other ways, but I'm with you. I know people love them, but just seems like a big seafood booger to me. But I'm unsophisticated and know it. With that and and other things I always wondered about the conversations about eating some things for the very first time.

"Hey, look at this. Let's eat it."
"What? Seriously? Why? It doesn't even look good."
"What could go wrong?"
"A lot."
"How do you know?"
"Because we don't know anyone who ever ate that before."
"So."
"There's likely a reason. Like they knew better, died from it or were ashamed to tell anyone because people
would say, 'You put what in your mouth?"

Obviously most of it grew out of necessity (hunger), but still makes me wonder.

not in her DNA….. to quote her, too cold and pretentious, prefers Baja……that said, who needs the Côte d'Azur when you got Big Sur?…..

Warmer water to swim in perhaps. But if you aren't planning on that, then I'm not convinced there's much better than Big Sur. My wife doesn't swim at all, so she's got that covered.

Or as a friend said. " I've tasted a raw oyster twice...once going down..."

…like who looked at an artichoke growing in the ground and thought "yum, looks delicious"

'Twas a brave man indeed
That first ate an oyster
