I have always advised companies to use the big accounting package. Sure, when you are a startup, you can manage all your accounts in a spreadsheet, but by the time you need the big accounting package, you will not have the time to implement it nor the ability to import your data from the spreadsheet.

Same with electronics. Develop good habits at the start, it will save trouble later.

Yeah, those knobs are not like Gibson spacing. Probably makes it hard to play, maybe even to look at. It wouldn't bother a far lesser player like myself. The great color makes of for any flaws pointed out. I can take that thing off your hands if you are tired of fooling with it. If the white one is simply unbearable, I can help with that too.

Like you, I never understood the pistol grip thing. So unnatural--unless on a nice ____. Even NASCAR has gone to a smooth version of that shape. And sequential shifters like many other forms of racing. Don't like that either.

Yes you can. Called (cowboy) boot socks. Look fantastic with black sandals and shorts bulled up 5" above your navel.

Serious question. When would you use Hi in Reverse?

Never did. It was part of the system. In the cut off instructions it says not to shift(range)between lo and hi in reverse.
Every truck I drove that had a 5 speed pattern had 1 and R to the left. Even 9/13 speed have R and "Lo" to the left.* I'd prolly get confused with another pattern. I rarely used 1-it was like a low low to get started on a grade such as a ramp-type loading dock.

*(it's really an 8(or 12) speed with a 'granny' gear)

Tell me about it - there's hardly a 'standard' in wire colour, especially white & black. Red is 'usually' hot and black is 'usually' ground - but even that can vary. Then there is yellow occasionally. Green generally turns up in a 4-wire set-up, for coil-splitting or active pre-amps.

If there is a standard - I'd like everyone in the industry to conform to it.

Yes. Usually the color of the wire indicates the color of the wire.

there was a joke I heard in Spain about a guy that kept taking his brand new Ferrari back to the dealer for major repairs and when asked "how did this happen?" he explained he would shift from 1st to 5th no prob but all hell would brake loose when he went from 5th to Rapidisimo….
