Thunderbird Club

In the parts and accessories classifieds @jaibeau had a custom made strap specifically made for hanging oversized birds low on him and he's a tall dude. Not sure if it's still for sale.
Yes it is. I had it custom made by Jodi head because I couldn’t find a long enough strap that has character.thanks for posting

Best looking one of these I've ever seen...........

NBD (exchange) so I was having issues with the neck on my red Thunderbird 64. Took it to my nearest long and mcquade and ended up exchanging it for this gaudy, glamorous monstrosity. I guess it was a limited finish for their Gibson month.View attachment 5449331

It's certainly a big change from the usual offerings in terms of color, I have the Blue Sparkle one and quite like it's gaudiness as well!

Well, the VP64 is all finished. Intonation was almost dead on out of the box even going from rounds to flats. I can't wait for the pros at the GTG to give me their opinion. My take, tone deaf as I am, says the bridge pickup is now useful. It can have a nice bark depending on where you put the tone. Is it the SD pickup, the new location, a combination, or my imagination?

I dig the SD's a lot too, between them and the Gibson re-issues there's great choices for pickups out there.

So is that the new Epiphone Purple Sparkle Tbird or is that a Gibson special run?

It's the Epi Purple Sparkle.
Yes, epiphone thunderbird 64 as they're calling them these days. It was a limited run colour for long and mcquade for their gibson month
Awesome! I ordered a purple one from ZZounds a few days ago, should be here tomorrow. I’ll be tickled pink if it looks half as good as yours.
