Ken is turning me into a SIT convert.
Word.It makes us happy. And the dirty little secret is that we always have more fun than the audience. Gotta keep it that way.

Great.... I mean, not to worry. I'll buy the white one from you and you will no longer hear those awful sounds.Speaking from experience - my BaCH Tbirds Suck*

I’ve mentioned before that they became my acoustic guitar strings of choice back when Nashville Straights ceased production. Ken started posting about the bass strings and they rapidly became my gotos. Great tone, fair pricing, and they last.
Sure seems that way. And I’ll be adding fuel to the fire when my two NR basses get finished by Pat Wilkins (late June). One is the NR VP that Epiphone wouldn’t make, and the other is the Fender ThunderCaster that will surely tick off Fender and Gibson fans alike.seems like reverse Birds are the minority around here these days……
I don't see a white one. Just Antigua. I happen to love Antigua.Great.... I mean, not to worry. I'll buy the white one from you and you will no longer hear those awful sounds.
The Foundations have less mids and are a little bigger sounding IME. I like them on a G&L which has tons of mids baked in. This is not to say that are hallow. I have the NPS.I'm going to try the light gauge Power Steels, and the Foundations.
How do they feel compared to the Power Steel or Power Wound? More flexible? The Foundations have less mids and are a little bigger sounding IME. I like them on a G&L which has tons of mids baked in.
Given the titles I must ask, planning on going some place? At the Java Owl coffee shop this morning I met a professional artist who may do some commissions for me-
No sooner that he left, my next neighbor set these books down-

Turns out that he is an interventional neurologist who not only gave meaningful feedback on the psychiatric aspects of my novel (sci-fi/fantasy genre), but also bought a copy of my graphic anthology-
Mind you such encounters are few and far between, but I am thankful when they happen.
I’m sure that many of you have had similar experiences in different fields and venues -
Come to think of it - this thread is like an online Java Owl-

Maybe slightly more smooth to he touch, maybe. They are a little more flexible in comparable gauges. Not floppy in the least. How do they feel compared to the Power Steel or Power Wound? More flexible?
Based on that, probably not my cuppa. The Foundations have less mids and are a little bigger sounding IME. I like them on a G&L which has tons of mids baked in. This is not to say that are hallow. I have the NPS.
This is what I got back from John H. at SIT with respect to Foundations:
The Foundations were designed with tonal balance and string flexibility in mind. They aim to sound less like an "angry piano" and more like a good old fashioned bass guitar. The Foundation Nickel variety is slightly brighter than our Power Wound series, and the Foundation Stainless will be slightly less bright than the Power Steels. The Foundations also have new core-to-wrap ratios resulting in a string that is also easier to bend. For what you're describing, we would personally recommend trying the regular Foundation Nickel variety.
