I'm betting it was when he kicked on his B3K that made you pay attention! I noticed that too, & i watched him use it several times...There was a demonstration by a guy who is a spectacular player. He was dancing on pedals a bit, and I could hear some subtle differences, but not enough to make all the electronic wizardry worthwhile.
Get offa my lawn!
What he said about his amp (GK) had to do with finding sonic space for each instrument. That made a huge amount of sense to me, and his comments about how GK's eq capabilities help him do that for bass fueled a little of my budding GK GAS. But, I have a ToneHammer to do that kind of thing with, so there you have it.
Hey bro, got a big lot of old punk records for ya, just need your, um, address. Hahahaha!
That's exactly it. I like the fuzz circuit the 360 has, so no separate pedal necessary for that. The only pedals I use for bass are for tuning the tone to the room or impedance matching and a compressor that's intentionally subtle.Bloody penguins!
+10 on the subtle differences in many pedals. Either go large or not at all.
Yep. I have pretty lo-fi ears by now though. I noticed the difference but didn't think it was all that worthwhile. It made the tone more scooped, if I'm remembering it right, and it brought out the highs. I probably would have left it on all the time.I'm betting it was when he kicked on his B3K that made you pay attention! I noticed that too, & i watched him use it several times
IMHO I would hold out for the new Epi model coming out this summer. It will come in white and have chrome. A few bird lovers around here are hoping the new pickups [Probucker 760's] are worthwhile. From the little I've been able to find on them I was thinking the TV Silver was the same pickups and hardware as the white. Care to throw out an opinion on how they compare to the TB+ pickups? I'm assuming the same pickups on yours as on the one in the link you provided.
Edit: it says those ARE TB+, so I'm left to assume they're the same as the black, shiny covers being the only difference. Sure would like some confirmation though. Anyone?
Now you has SVT GAS?
Most would think me heretic, that was a US made SVT, I've never played through one until yesterday - For me, my GK 700RBII and 2 4x10s stomped it, especially in tone and articulate punch.

Compression doesn't count.

Be it my 400rb, 800rb, 1001rb and now the monster 2001rb. I use ampeg 8x10s but I want to switch to GK RBH 4x10+1x15. Gotta pay ye olde Sweetwater card down first. Most would think me heretic, that was a US made SVT, I've never played through one until yesterday - For me, my GK 700RBII and 2 4x10s stomped it, especially in tone and articulate punch.

phwew! I feel pure again.Compression doesn't count.
I didn't like the way it sounded either. Put an SVT and 'fridge next to an old Acoustic 360 and the Acoustic will make the Ampeg sound scratchy like it needs a glass of water.[gasps]
Why does this here TB forum not have a *slap* option?

Definitely a great combo, sounded great through my HeritageNow there is no denying a Big Bad Bird through an SVT.
I've had a B3K for years and love it, but the new Alpha-Omega is just fantastic with the Thunderbird.I'm betting it was when he kicked on his B3K that made you pay attention! I noticed that too, & i watched him use it several times
