Thunderbird Club

I want an SVT VR, that is my most favorite.
I prefer the SVT-CL, for the gain knob. But the VR is cool, too.

Sartori will understand, uh, maybe.
*shrugs*

Tort and silks? Oh I doubt that very much.
Whatever. There's no accounting for taste. Not everyone has to like the same things as me.

Hell, a lot of you like Slade and Motley Crue, which I find utterly baffling.

Now you has SVT GAS?

Most would think me heretic, that was a US made SVT, I've never played through one until yesterday - For me, my GK 700RBII and 2 4x10s stomped it, especially in tone and articulate punch.

I have SVT G.A.S. Since the weekend. Suddenly.

My world is suddenly shifting into its rightful way.

My first GK will arrive the next few days. Hope I never stumble across an SVT CL and like it. The GK was costly enough.

About the Jazzbass topic a few pages ago. I once posted it's the only other bass I'm really interested in and compared a few. Really digged an MIM car one, but not sure if I should get it. Got enough gear the last few months - including a mandolin.

PS: One day I'll make it to the west coast.

Only thing I dislike about GK is the way their visual design has gone. I loved the older heads and cabs with the big "GALLIEN-KRUEGER" across them. I don't like this newer oval front plate trend of theirs on their heads and the soft front on the cabs with the little "GK". Not that it stops me, of course. They're there to be heard.

Svts are awesome but just can't tough my GKs. Be it my 400rb, 800rb, 1001rb and now the monster 2001rb. I use ampeg 8x10s but I want to switch to GK RBH 4x10+1x15. Gotta pay ye olde Sweetwater card down first.
Before you put the money down on the GK cabs try to find Bergantino 610 and 215 cabs to try with your GK head. I swear by the Berg cabs, best thing I've ever tried by a long shot. My 610 ran circles around my SVT810 in volume, tone, punch and articulation. I tried it with a friends 800rb and it was to die for (much better than my SVT-VR head).

I've always wanted to hear the Berg 610, gets a lot of raves.

Plus it's easier to load in and out than any 410 I've tried. Likewise their 215 is easier to haul than the 115 I have. Loved them with the GK head I tried also fell in love with the now discontinued Carvin 1500 amp, that thing was a moose!

I'm still diggin my fridge, but i can easily be swayed on the Berg.
Really happy with my 700RBii though.

Wolf - you need to get your guitarist drunk and take him to a tattoo shop, he's lacking a bit in the ink category vs the rest of the band. ;)
Man, we were in Hollywood last year, we were all saposed to get tats @ sunset strip tattoo. I ended up getting 3, wife and daughter got one no one else! Lames!!!. Headlined the whisky with bandages on lol.

I have seen alot of talk about those, I kinda just dismissed them as more botique BS. I do prefer the tone of a 2x15 but I need large cabs. I was on a hunt for ampeg 2x15 cabs for that reason. For my stage show need big cabs. That's mainly why I use the svt 8x10s

I have a LE TV Silver and a LE Silverburst with those chrome pickups, which I'm pretty sure are the same ones as on the LE Vintage Sunburst, Alpine White and Ebony ones...

I haven't yet have mine taken out, so I can't confirm or deny whether they are in fact 6 pole guitar pickups as elsewhere stated. However in my band context with a virtual rig, they sound pretty much the same as my Epi birds with the black hardware. The really difference (if any) might very well be due to different strings on them - Some of mine with black hardware has Black Beauties or RotoSound RS66 Swing Bass strings (stainless steel) on them, whereas the TV Silver and Silverburst have RotoSound Roto's (nickel on steel) on them.

Will have a look on the pickups next time I get them home...

Really appreciate your efforts Hillerup, Thank you.

Question - what's your opinion of how those basses sound compared to your stock TB+ equipped ones? At this point that's really the primary concern.
