Thunderbird Club

I had an opportunity to try my friend's friend's fretless 5-string Wal today. A big mistake.

A beautiful sounding and playing bass. Now I fully understand why they are so desirable. And it doesn't really help that my most wanted fretless is indeed a Wal.
One thing that helps is that I could never afford one.

I think there’s a set in the classifieds …. I know that you definitely know your T-Bird sounds, so maybe I’ll see if I can strike a deal on them ! They’re over my budget but maybe I can make it work ….Thanks ….
If those are still available, grab them. He’s a member here. Tell him the Tbird Club sent you.

Wals are awesome!

Yes, very familiar with Steve McQueens debut movie -
When I was a kid, KHJ channel 9 in L.A. (owned by Desi and Lucy Arnez for a time) ran the same movie every night for a week. My brother insisted on watching every minute of the Blob every night for a week. It gave me nightmares. I used to be afraid that the blob was under my bed.

@Stealth57 had a set he was maybe selling. I don’t know what happened with them.
You should know as you were there the night Richard (@Ringhammer) got them in a swap-ish deal for a 1964 CTS 15" speaker. I needed that to turn my B-15NC back to original state. It came indirectly from Jess Oliver with a 1971 Eminence that I have for sale. Maybe you were too enamored by his groupie. :woot:

Jeez. I forgot. As usual. And yeah, my eyes were pretty much watching her.
