you never really said….whats your tone preference? any particular favorite artist in that sense?I wish I could help you. But I don’t play out. Mine is awesome through the Mesa stuff. Maybe I’ll take it up to where the SVT is and see if I can notice anything. But we seem to be way different in what we like for tone…
yes. unfortunately it kinda defeats the purpose of the MB’s portability but power can be pretty crappy around here and so…I’ll usually run the EVO unless I need more headroom..By redundancy, do you mean back-up?

I'm hesitant to repost an old story that I told here on TB many years ago...but it is the Thunderbird club and we seem to be a little salty. This is a repost of the original.Maybe we should start the Thunderbird Club Whoarewe wiki for the best stories.
I had an old MAG 300 I took as a trade and some cash for an SWR 350 years ago when nothing I was using sounded right. Ended up being as much a cab problem as a head problem. Anyway, I kept the MAG for a while and used it some. I bought an Ampeg 3Pro and was into those so I ended up selling it. It was their cheap line of heads, but the thing sounded really good. Warm for SS like my old Peavey Mk III. I later regretted selling it as it was a nice different flavor. When a used RM-300 evo came up at a great price I snagged it. Weighs about 4lbs and can't easily be grabbed with one hand on off we go. I've been impressed with it from day one. After a few uses figured it was something I could and would gladly use any time. I've got three Ampeg 100w tube heads and the RM (and a small Ampeg combo). I wouldn't mind moving my second V-4BH head that's at home for something like the one in the link. Seems like a decent price, but I haven't been looking. But selling the heavy Ampeg head would be a challenge so it will likely stay and no Ashdown coming this way. Just wishing I reckon.Man, I remember when Ashdown ABMs first came on the scene. Played through them and they were SWEET but I already had a SVT rig on the road with me so I never got one.
Thanks. Yes, at home the NR sounds as good as anything I have. But big areas make bass sound bigger IME. My Ampeg head and cab are naturally full of lows (maybe more than the average rig--and maybe why VPs sound fantastic through it). Put all that together and lows on some basses can get mushy. That's why I thought the Ashdown might help given it's just a tighter sound. And it certainly is helping. A lot. It's looking very promising. The Ashdown is so light that it's easy to grab and go and not make an extra trip when I want to use it. I've been using it at home when I want something different, don't want to heat the room up with the tubes, or just want to try something quick and not fire the tubes up.I wish I could help you. That has to sound fantastic.
I had two old Jensen 115s covered in blue sparkle. Funky shaped cabs to boot.
No clue man, the old lady doesn't like Thai so we don't get it much. The place nearby I used to go on my own (Yai's Thai) recently closed. What's your spot?
I used to visit Asia Market and Thai Lao on N. Main weekly when I lived in The Heights.

Our neighbor is Thai. She brings us supper sometimes. It is amazing. We got lucky when we picked our neighbors. Or they picked us. Whichever way it goes.No clue man, the old lady doesn't like Thai so we don't get it much. The place nearby I used to go on my own (Yai's Thai) recently closed.
