How did the covers not shield UV rays/amber-ing and only the feet did?

Do not sell it. You will have regrets if you do.
It's really going in the right direction with the Ashdown. Honestly more than I thought it would. Being OCD, I'm using it again Sunday with different strings (Boomers this time). I even have an offer to buy it from someone here, but I've got to use it a few more times before deciding. It's sounding better, but having an interested/potential buyer is a nice thing as well. But it's sounding better.... I have regretted selling a few things before so I will be sure before I decide either way.

I will say, I'm really enjoying using the Ashdown. I've used it a few times before and liked it, but using it consistently it's growing on me even more. I got that used at a GC online. They changed that version, made is smaller and with less features (no compression or overdrive and a couple other things), that they moved to a more expensive head.

I would not sell that bass!
You’ll only regret it!
Thanks. It's definitely looking less likely. I wouldn't say it's at the "Wow!" stage, but I increasingly really happy with what I'm hearing and actually look forward to playing it. That was not the case before. So, it's sounding better.

And it looks fantastic (and better with the gold knobs IMO).

That I don't know. It was like that when I got it. I took the covers off after buying it. It may have sat out on a stand possibly. All I know of it's past is George Gruhn saw it in the early 80s when I took it to Nashville and said, "Ah, the Turtle Bass." And said that it had been in Europe for about 10 yrs or so. How he knew anything of it I don't know or recall.

Man, I'm gonna go against the grain. If you can't find a way to feel it, find something you can. I bet somebody in here would love to feel it.
Yes, if it doesn't click, I'm going to stop fighting and move on. Life it too short for having something you don't really enjoy. But, it's changing my mind. And as I've said before, I sounds just fine at home. It's in a big room that it's was getting indistinct with my Ampeg head.

I wish I could help you. But I don’t play out. Mine is awesome through the Mesa stuff. Maybe I’ll take it up to where the SVT is and see if I can notice anything. But we seem to be way different in what we like for tone…
