Thunderbird Club

I'm hesitant to repost an old story that I told here on TB many years ago...but it is the Thunderbird club and we seem to be a little salty. This is a repost of the original.
I'm older now and slightly more mature. Not! :)
Whoops, hot mic.... | Page 5 | TalkBass.com
I like it. Doesn't top the exotic dancer tale in my book.

I think I've seen more stupidity from attenders at one corporate Christmas gig than all others combined. Not at all meaning you. There seems to be something about a work party that is like an HOA meeting in that you fin out how foolish those around you really are.

Usually an HR nightmare. :)

I've always loved that finish on a bird so much so I emulated it on my first build.

So it looks like I'll be playing some Zeppelin again and I find myself without a Jazz bass. I looked for a affordable option but this American Vintage II 66 Jazz Bass just blew me away. Beautifully built and I love the bound neck and Lollipop tuners. The bass is quite light and it just sings and sustains. The pickups are full and gritty, sounds like a 60's Jazz should.

Scott NEEDS to go bass shopping?:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

Many years ago a friend who does construction found a ProCo Rat distortion pedal in the house they were working on. No-one claimed it so he took it and gave it to me. I might have used it once but it's been in a box ever since. I just learned it is a very sought-after 'White Face' from '84.

EDIT: Checking under the hood I discovered mine is made in '85, but the 'White Face' was only made those two years so everything's the same inside & out. They RI'd it in 2005 (85 White Face RI) and even that RI pedal (made only one year) is going for big bucks as a collectors item. According to the site I posted, the 'White Face' had the same circuitry as its predecessor from '81 (Big Box Rat) and stayed the same until '88. Only difference was the box graphics, so it sounded the same for 5yrs. '84 was the 1st year it was contained in a smaller box.

Here's one currently on Reverb. I don't have the original box etc, but wow-Bob-wow!

No doubt.

Our police dept has had several (questionable and almost certainly unqualified) chiefs of late and a story came out this week about a Maj (lady) and her husband (sgt) having a pool party for officers. She went off into the house with some guy for a while, her husband propositioned a female officer and said their marriage was "open." Another sent high school stupid texts to a female officer. (She stupidly played along) He asked for pics and then send two of his billy club to her. Then there was the genius who claimed the golfer dragged him when the PGA was here. (He held onto the clearly marked PGA car causing his own problem, but arrested Scotty because he got his ego ran over. Figuratively speaking. Case dismissed. The latest great chief resigned so they will search for someone based on appearance instead of proven qualifications. So it sounds like basically a corporate Christmas party we have going on here.
