Had a little intermittent scratchy sound in the Ashdown RM-300 evo so I took the cover off and air canned and shot some Deoxit in a few places, and made sure all the plugin connections were pushed in good. So far so good.

For those who like looking at guts and know what you're looking at. All I know about all that stuff is that the sound from the bass goes in, rattles around in all those bits and pieces and gets loud and shoots out the make sound cord hole.

It's crazy how light a 300w or more amp can be these days.

The dirty secret is, it's fake sound. Real sound comes from tubes. Tubes make it better and louder because there's way more room for the sound to rattle around in tubes than transistors. So it makes perfect sense why tube watts are louder than transistor watts. It's basic geometry.

my dad, an electrical engineer of the “Try a Pentode!” generation used to say exactly that lol…..convinced tube gear sounded better because the electrons were willing to cooperate more because they weren’t in a cramped space……as false as he knew this was, he quirkily partially believed and evangelized this..

Did they change the silk colors? The first thing I did with my 2018 Epi IV was put on La Bella black tapes. They have purple silks.

SIT Powersteels on mine. It’s awesome.

It's a great little amp. Can do very clean to very warm w/o overdrive. The compressor is nice and doesn't color the sound but does tighten or clean things up a bit. And I've always loved the Sub Harm on occasion. Always sounds good at home and the more I use it live the more I like it. Glad I found one. They don't make them any more with all the features.

It’s not me as I cleared the cache on multiple browsers and get the same garbage.

There is nothing wrong with Talk Bass. Do not attempt to adjust the preferences. I am now in control of the transmission. I control the horizontal and the vertical. I can deluge you with a thousands channels, or expand one single image to crystal clarity and beyond. I can shape your vision to anything my imagination can conceive. For the next millennium i will control all that you see and hear.

Please just change the color of the “You” when I “like” a post so I can keep track.
