Thunderbird Club

Some Sake might have been good this morning. We made it out alright. Turns out I need to recaulk a window and replace about 2sq ft of drywall. Gotta reinforce my wooden fence as it's got a Michael Jackson lean to it. And my kids trampoline flew away. But no thing major.

Eye passed right over us around 9am. We had 90mph winds for a good few hours.
Glad all it mostly well.

I still maintain that a meal from Chipotle is the best prep.
This will work very well.

I'm thinking-that's what you smell burning-of hooking up my phaser just for S&G this weekend. I've been f---ing* with the TBird through it the past few days and figger it might fit in with some of the songs we do. Especially a coupla the ballads like Tennessee Whiskey or Unchained Melody. Or not. I've also been f---ing*with the Micro POG and I can't seem to find the sound I was getting B4-which came close to the sound of a bass and guitar in octaves. :banghead:

I almost always use my beloved Phase 90 on slow songs. Makes the whole note that need to just hang out that have more interest to them that just G-----------------. Doesn't take much. They are all different, but mine is about 10-11 o'clock, or 35 to 40% on. Keep trying till you know you don't like it. I think phasers (some anyway) are fantastic for some songs.

That post was going so well...then I got to the end.

Once you start the magic meds--you won't be able to contain yourself or hardly wait.

Sorry. That was just low hanging fruit. But hope you aren't have problems and everything looks good up the old.....you know.....the.... the thing..... An please don't post any pics. We believe you.
Hopefully just the 3 year check-up. I plan to ask the 'quack' for some 8x10 'glossies'.

It ain't no Phase 90, it's an El Cheapo-like me. I have what I think is a good setting, but that's here in the house and where we set up I'm so close in front of the amp I'll have almost no idea how it'll sound out front. Oh, well. No one pays any attention to the bass player anyway.:(

Yeah, I'm not sure what mine sounds like more than 20ft away. I've never had anyone say, "That thing on the floor or whatever you did really sounds nice in that song." Some times I just use it for bridges or pre-courses. All depends. I like it, and most of playing music is self entertainment anyway, so mission accomplished.

I can do that, I'll keep track of how much mine costs to put together so I can have an estimate. Plus, I can work out any kinks that may arise as I prototype mine. Would you want a DI out incorporated or just the simpler layout I posted?
If you do one, the simpler layout. I would rack it and run it through the effects of the Mesa TT800 second Subway channel.

what key do you do Unchained Melody in?
G. Hatfield did it in C. I can hit the same note(G)he hit at the end but not the notes in the rest of the song. G is even a little high for me, but that's the key we worked it out in and as long as it's not early in the evening or right after "Mustang"-(I do a 'frog' voice in the "put your flat feet on the ground" part), I'm OK with it. I should prolly do vocal exercises during the week. Yeah, I'll do those while I practice. Oh. Wait. I don't practice.

Unlike using effects with a guitar, everything I incorporate during a song/set is fairly subtle. (fuzz, distortion, tremolo, chorus, reverb, B9, P.O.G.) Sometimes the whole song, sometimes targeted parts. Just adds some colour and/or dynamics.
