Thunderbird Club

We had another name for that beer, but it would get me thrown off TB if I repeated it.
W/o risking getting booted off tb... there's the Fireside Theaters LP reference... "...Bear-Wiz Beer... it's in the water!"

Bud tested LA ever here in the late eighties. It tasted about like Bud. So not great.
Our ex-drummer Steve from Detroit drank Budweiser - his "go to" beer. We gave him grief about it, but in a lighthearted manor. :) I've never been a "beer snob" so hey... whatever version of beer works for anyone - knock yourself out!

Here's a weird one. I don't think the seller saying "1974" for Bicentennial pickups is all that weird since people get details like that wrong all the time, but at least a couple of weird things stick out to me. The mounting bracket, and one of the wires seeming to come out the wrong side.

Typical '76 pickups, they use that strange mount, also note the vast difference in output between the two. They were all over the place with QC on the pickups, resulted in some very good basses and some pretty bad ones as well.

Fine beer (if there is such a thing) is totally wasted on me. I like my drinks either ice cold or boiling hot. So if the beer is ice cold I’ll drink it, but only if. It’s kinda like soft drinks to me - coke, Shasta cola, RC Cola, Pepsi, Big K cola - you name it, they all taste about the same to me, good when ice cold, horrid when room temperature, just like beer.

There's ongoing myths in guitar-world about lacquer and they are propagated in an attempt to convince someone of how special it is in order to sell you something. I like and use lacquer for certain specific reasons but I know enough about finishing products to only consider it as a choice among many options which work well depending on application need.
Latex!

Actually, I usually like the feel of nitro on a musical instrument, but I have a few that the poly feels great. I had a Ric with nitro and it felt awful. The El Degas fakenbacker is poly and feels much better than the Ric with nitro. It's not like the Ric didn't have some play time, either. It was a well used 1998 and was about 15 years old when I got it.

Right. And that's why the 67 NR has all those nicks in the lower bout. So it can breathe.
I also have a bridge for sale.
ADDENDUM: And so begins year 79.
Is that bridge you are selling a 2-point or 3-point?

Congratulations on getting away with it for another year. May you keep 'em fooled for many more.

That reminds me, my Ric was a bit sticky or draggy.

At ice cold temps, your taste buds don't have a lot of range. It's why if I'm drinking a flavorful beer/ale, I always tell them to put it in a room temp glass and not a frozen mug.

Pegs can be such a PITA…..:turns out whoever was working on this (upgrading from an N model) never got around to finishing so it was kinda “stuck” in the middle trying to behave like both…… :banghead:

Since it was Jess Oliver's, maybe he didn't finish upgrading or just felt a 50:50 bar was delicious? Glad we have a brain here that can find and fix! Thanks :hyper:
