Having one of your Plums getting squished while playing - just one of the many hazards of playing the bass in women's clothes.
Well, it would be less here. When the time comes. I wanna squeeze a few more notes outta my EBCFs B4 I list it.
Very little market for originals here. We play 'memories'(covers) for a 55+ crowd. We make enuff to cover our efforts. Normally we do three sets: first-1 hour, break, 2nd-45 minutes, break, 3rd-45 +/- minutes. Usually 6:30-9:30.Seattle and western Washington is pretty good in terms of venues to play at, originals tend to be more popular at smaller places in the city, you won't make any money to speak of and you'll likely be on a bill with 2-3 other bands - But, you'll get to play. Once you're outside of Seattle, tribute bands are the popular thing, most of them will play a 90 minute set and that'll be the night's work - you'll make money doing this. Good cover bands play the casinos as well, usually just on certain nights, again the pay is good. We don't play all that much, I think we did about 12 shows this year, which, for me is plenty, I have so many other things going on that take up my time, some of which are actually more meaningful to me that this is about all I'm good for at this point.

This is true - I have sold things valuable to me over the years to service the needs of rent or other life-oriented financial reasons. (the '08 market crash comes to mind) I don't regret selling them and other things have taken their place, even better things for less financial output. I would do your best to get the most money you can for your T-bird as it is original w/OHSC. It will help you dig out of this low-spot and get you back on level ground. Being pro-active is the most forward-looking thing you can do as it puts you in control.
It was at least 88F this afternoon, but getting all the way down to 72 tonight! At the end of October. Warm even for CenTex.

Just finished this evening’s Phil Lesh Thunderbird workout. Not sure what got more exercise and mobility - my fingers or headspace. But the Greco works well for Dead music.
