Thunderbird Club

Great demo! And love all the tones.
Nice bass. I would have gone for a more subtle hs badge, but otherwise aesthetically it's well done. I made a 3 pu bass in 2016 using a Squier Seth Lover (as on the '70s Fender Telecaster bass) neck-hugger. I thought about a P in the middle but opted to keep it a J-J. Passive VVT. Sold it years ago.

I recently upgraded my Glam P/J installing a Fender double-J (bucker) - I've always preferred a P/bucker over a P/J as it's meatier. A big difference once installed. (I routed toward the P-pu to open up the J cavity) It's location is now pretty much the same as my '64 II bridge pu. Definitely muscular sounding compared to a single J there. I'm thinking of taking it to our BG gig tonight. I only used it once for a BG gig years ago. It's very 'show-biz'.

I have two other basses w/3 pu's but I don't use the neck-hugger pu on either. It sounds cool and all, just not what I gravitate to. They both sound really good in different ways.

For those that are puzzled by my love of Cold Chisel (we just say “Chisel”) I thought I’d drop this one here. I’m sure I’ve probably force fed them to Donnie @dagrev and Marshall @MCF before :D

Beats me why the record company didn’t want them. We love them!

In this one lead vocals are shared by “Mossy” (on guitar) and “Barnsey” and features some wailing harmonica. Probably my favourite (or equal favourite) of their stuff. They broke up in 1983 but have done reunion tours a few times since. This is the official video, but another live one from the 2003 Ringside tour may even be better.

Good stuff!

Anybody around these parts a MkI Deep Purple fan?
Figured I would ask here before wading into the GP

Trying to learn April. I will admit it's learning me more than I it
feels like Dm with a couple changes.
The tail end of the song I just get lost

Help? Ideas? Transcription?

Oh, yeah. Their version of “Hush” grabbed me and I’m still a big fan of the Mk I and Mk II albums.

The only Mk1 Deep Purple I remember is Hush, I had a best of at some stage but I found it a bit lacklustre.

I prefer Russell Morris’s cover. His band at the time covered it in 1967, before DP I think. This video is from 1981 and rocks.

I still prefer the DP version, but this definitely rocks!

Or maybe Spring Equinox?
No maybe about it! It's my second favorite day on the calendar - the shortest daylight day. Now, each day will get longer! First favorite day is the longest daylight day, but it's bitter sweet because each day then gets shorter...
