That's an interesting thought. Other than preference, there's likely some long technical reason they may pair well. I can't say that always holds true in my situation. Definitely true for the TB+. But my Js and '55 Pbass sound way better through the ABM. So does my '64 Epi Embassy which tends to be darker than the '64 Thunderbird. Essentially the same bass, shape aside. Go figure.

I have one of these and really like it. I actually use it in place of the onboard pre-amp in my Ampeg RB112 common and PF-800/PF-115 “combo”. Granted, I just do this in the garage, but it is a good sounding device. Also makes a great headphone amp when I’m up at my family’s cabin, plus the cabinet emulator works in the headphones..

One my best friends in Brazil just acquired this bass. It's made by GMT and was Jerry Dixon from Warrant's main bass on the Cherry Pie tour. EMG active pickups. Cool piece of history!

Looks like I will go get the NR the 15th. They are in New Orleans and are returning on the bus not flying so meeting this Sat just gets to tight. But my correct nickle tuners arrived today!
Out of curiosity I asked a couple luthiers if they could give me a rough idea on what sanding and a paint job might run. May be worth someone doing it. I can, but it would take longer (likely), and I'm sure they would do a better job. But I might faint. But as it is, anything I put into it I would would increase it's value more than the cost of hat is done. Not that I intend to sell it. I've long wanted a 60s NR so it won't be going anywhere.

Gold Mist and Pelham Blue are on my mind for possible colors. Classic Black would look great as well. The more I think about it, Black may be the first option. That Ivory does look killer on Chuck's BaCH..... But B&W is classic.

Sounds good!
I’d suggest Sparkling Burgundy but you have one of them.
So (GM - Pontiac I think) Verodo Green (first version late 60s) with an anodised gold pick guard.

Gibsons Golden Mist Poly and Fenders Shoreline Gold Metallic are the same paint code and spec. It’s a great color on the NR especially with a dark fretboard and cream or aged white pickguard. It’s the spec I used for my ‘66 Epi NR Tribute with the Wenge neck. Looks beautiful in person…
