Thanks again to @GBassNorth for generously sending me the set of EB Cobalt rounds. I put them on the RNR to replace a set of SIT Fusion Wound Stainless. I don't play that bass much, so the strings weren't dead. I've put them aside for later use. As expected, being EB, the Cobalts were not as stiff as the SIT. I prefer stiffer strings. I don't understand old comments I've seen about the Cobalt rounds, but they feel quite smooth to me. Either I'm tainted or they had a bad run at one point. The biggest surprise was tone. Same tonal ballpark as the Power Steels (and by association, Fusion Wound). So similar that I'd be happy rocking them, though they're more than twice as expensive as Power Steels. Definitely leaving these on the RNR until they die. Thanks again, George.

It is a balmy 66 and very sunny in Seattle today, you should be here having a late lunch of raw oysters on our beautiful waterfront!

You had me...till you got to the raw part. Much more rain and we'll have raw oysters in the yard.

Doesn't look like much but the ditch this side of that golf path is over 3ft deep. A foot of water is a heavy rain. It's over three and washing over the path.

About 4 ft of water here. This is the front side of the house about 50 ft. away in the woods and heading towards the golf course.

Doesn't look like much this it's 2 to 3ft in places here and is moving really fast. Normally less than a foot here and slow moving. Several small waterfalls make for a nice water feature. If you wanted to be outside.

The SITs sound fuller, but still have some top.
The Cobalts don't seem to have anything much down low, it's all upper mid and highs. Colder sound.
Maybe the respective ages of the strings are a factor.

It's rained so much here already this Spring that my old Subie, the '99 that sits outside has moss growing on it in a couple places - Stay Dry!

Never listen to bass demos without headphones. I saw your original post before you edited it. I guess you were thinking of the Foundations and not the Fusions?

I think the age is a big factor. But either way, I bet you couldn't tell the difference in a mix.

I put an aftermarket bridge cover on my '77 Bird as well. It seemed like it should have one, even tho I normally would not want a pickup or bridge cover on a bass.
