When my band moved from an upstairs rehearsal room to our current ground level one in our complex, I immediately said that we need to build a riser. Full blown SVT / 810 at the time and it sounded terrible. The room is roughly 15’x15’, and we put a “stage” across the back of it 8’ deep and 15’ across, built on 2x10’s. Made a world of difference.
Elevated your performance, you could say?

If anyone here deserves that bass it’s you, as I believe you’re up at the level of an Enthwistle (sp) and the like.
what a cool thing to say.....Ha! if only you were right......got no choice but to take that Orange head off your hands now....c'mon, admit it, you just want me to get the bass so you can try it out.....:smug:

Cobalt Flats.

As for tone goals, I tend to ride on the darker side, focusing on the foundation of the song, gladly standing in the shadows. Clear on the high end but not glassy or harsh, balanced in the mids, grit grind and growl when I want it but mostly smooth and creamy in the low mids and at the bottom. Rarely do I target a “cut through the mix” tone.

I’ll need to spend some time with this bass in a mix to see where it sits, but on solo I like it a lot.
We must be related.
Tone Twins.

Actually sold the Orange OB-1 500 and bought an Orange “4-Stroke” 500 watt. Same class A/B power amp as the OB, but better pre-amp/equalization and no on-board overdrive.

…and it is my intention to come see you play some where some time. My guess is the closest you get is Los Gatos?
