I had to have those parts chrome plated, because I have an addiction to it.
Probably a bit gaudy for some, it suits me fine.

So what is holding you back? Birds are the absolute coolest basses on earth. Bar none. I love, love, love my Precisions (and my Mustang and Ibenez for that matter). None of them compare to my Gibby Bird. Put yourself out there and let one choose you. You'll be glad you did and your bass life will be pretty much complete. You're like the evil emperor! I'm a little lost here. What is it you're trying to tell me?We have some rules of Thunderbird acquisition around here. Max your credit cards, mortgage your house (twice) and spend that money on `Birds. Then borrow everything you can from friends and relatives to buy more `Birds. Cook meth to buy more `Birds.
The right number of `Birds to own is one more.
Not yet, but it will happen.I take it he's the acquisition king...

Couple things holding me back. Lack of knowledge & familiarity, is one (obviously I've found the single greatest T-bird knowledge base available). The other thing, is the fact that I picked one up once recently. First thing I did, was knock my right forearm on the top of the body as I attempted to assume my normal playing position. It was so instantly off-putting, that I said, "Aw DAMMIT! THAT won't work", & moved on to the next bass. To answer the question that I'm sure you're asking… YES... I HAVE been thinking about how stupid this sounds as I type it! I was gonna go back in to Rainbow Music to check out a Les Paul goldtop bass they recently got. I recon I'll give that T-bird a fair shake while I'm down there! So what is holding you back? Birds are the absolute coolest basses on earth. Bar none. That's a problem with your technique. Stop doing the chicken arm. And wear the bass lower.Couple things holding me back. Forgive my ignorance, but what makes that model a rarity? He's looking, but isn't quite ready yet.
I will say that's a great price on that 2014, and I really feel that will be a very sought after Thunderbird due to it's relative rarity. If Gibson (that's a BIG IF)
decides to make basses again we are just as likely to not see this bass given the corporate history of short production runs.
