Thunderbird Club

For someone who doesn’t need/want the gig bag, ship to store does save some money.
Probably not the greatest bag. I get it. Once they stop doing them, that will be an acceptable price. I’m getting the impression there are a fair number of them out there. As I’ve said, I keep perseverating over getting a blue one. But how much will I ever play it? Will it just be wall art? I don’t know. The enabler in me says get one. The practical me says get over them. It’s like the song

Just not enough of a discount and likely doesn’t include the bag. Still have to pay tax. And a nominal ship to store fee. I’d rather go new with Zzounds and deal with them if it needed to be returned. YMMV.

You know, I have two Epi bags here at the house, if that's all that is keeping you...........

I would have sent you home with one last year. Offer is still good.

Plan is fluid:

Install Gotoh Res-o-lite 528s (now arriving Monday)
Removing @3oz from headstock end of the fulcrum.

Add a 3oz Tungsten pinewood derby car 1” disc into the lower unoccupied area of the control cavity. (Maybe two see below)
Other side of the fulcrum.

Net shift of 6oz and no change in total weight.

Relocate the neck side pin to body edge, still using Dunlop dual design to retain 1/2” of forward fulcrum location, this will put the front pivot point in a place to eliminate face tilt.

After relocating front pin fulcrum point 2” back towards the bridge?
Im estimating that the bass will still be a bit headstock heavy.

** at this point perhaps add a second 3oz weight in the cavity ***

Leave tail pin in standard location. Will re assess after initial changes.

We will see…

Have a Gig on Monday (private)
Tbird Noir will be the #1
Tight stage: TE-GP7 150 or TT-800 into PJB C-8

I I could understand physics and geometry, I wouldn’t have had to do the law thing.

O/T, but amusing:

And this, my usual gig rig:

By birds eye, you mean a bird on the moon? Not even production numbers or s/n's. Reads more like a brochure. Not pointing a finger at you BTW. It's frustrating no real data exists.
I would suspect it would be hard for someone at Gibson to justify the cost of fully documenting their bass production as it's happening, and after a few years it doesn't matter to them.

That's odd, if I"m following. Here if you go up on the mountains (yeah, Kentucky is not flat!), it gets cooler.
The actual temperature drops, but the perceived temperature is higher than the thermometer. At least, that is my experience at 6,000'. Maybe due to increased solar radiation reaching the surface and reduced atmospheric density.
