Anyone looking for a shorty?

Very nice. And with a Babicz. I have my shorty Thunderbird and a Mustang. I occasionally think about selling the Mustang and picking up a LP Jr.
Last tuesday, I received a trade proposal, it was my blackbird for a brand new thunderbird non reverse. Love my bass, but it is 24 years old and the non reverse is new. Still thinking about... I will thank any advice!
IMO, the NR reissues since ‘21 are a dime a dozen. Nice bass. More vintage tone. But your Blackbird is rare. And assuming it’s in good shape, collectible or will be. I want one. Bad.

You know Im in Spain! If I was overseas, we could make deal.

I've recently become a big fan of preamps with low-mid and high-mid tone controls, which started with a relatively recent purchase of an alnico loaded Dingwall SJ4XXX with a Darkglass Tone Capsule. My plan was to remove the Darkglass, but once I heard it that's not going to happen.

Last week I received a SushiBox PMLE 4 band preamp pedal which has bass/low-mid/high-mid/treble, and simply put, it's magic. Even better, it makes my VP sound like what I imagine 60s Era Thunderbirds sound like. It adds depth and weight to the tone (unlike the somewhat thin tone I got from it at my last gig). I haven't tried it with the band, but I have a VP at practice to try it with. This was with everything at 12 o'clock which I believe is neutral. Interestingly, my Chinabucker loaded Pbird didn't respond as well to the SushiBox, but I didn't tweak the SushiBox knobs, so that magic may be in there for it as well. Can’t wait to try it with my 2014 Thunderbird which also lives at practice.

Sadly, the PMLE was a limited edition for April Fool's Day, but a similar pedal, the SushiBox Venus is still available.

I'm back in love with my VP!

He sure makes interesting pedals. I’m a simpleton and rely on the eq in my amps. But I may dip my toe into something from him. Just because.

Well, my daughter goes to Spain all the time; she works for an airline. She did a year at University of Madrid and goes back at least once a year. We have relatives in Barcelona. And my wife’s uncle has a condo in Santander. Even with an open invite to use it anytime, I’ve sadly never been. I’m retiring very soon. Maybe then.

Hanging with all the separatists :rollno:

I've been playing my LP Junior with a Reggae-ish project lately. We're jamming with headphones and then multitrack recording the ideas. It's easier to engineer/play with a short scale and the LPJ with old Chromes sounds great for the dub tones.

FWIW I’m partial to a 4 band Audere .
Any bass I have put it in, just gets to be “more” of what it already sounds like.
In other words doesn’t color the signal: only an active EQ onboard.
This has a Nordy 2 band which can be passive if wanted (since it has a dedicated tone knob that works either way in addition to the 2 band on the pre). I like it in that it doesn't flavor the tone any.

That is glare around the PSC pickup.
