Know what you mean. This is the only pic from Leon with a white NR. But it's an odd one. Custom or highly modded. If I ever heard what it was, I don't recall. Dig the inlays. (Gibson.... anyone at Gibson.... Anyone....?)

his left hand technique was always so unorthodox....almost like a snake swallowing the neck...hard to explain...

Update on my Ashdown rig:

Used the 115 and 210 neo cabs with the Geezer head at my rehearsal space Tuesday (with a Thunderbird) and tonight (with a P-bass) and still wasn’t happy with the cabs. Very boxy sounding, mid, mid low focused. Just couldn’t find that warm bottom end.

Then I plugged the head into my SVT212AV, a front ported 2x12. And there it was! Nice full clear and warm bottom end and great overall tone with great clarity. No boxy, cold sound.

Now, hoping the GK Neo IV 212 4 ohm, will also bring it, making for a good light compact rig with big sound.

And of course I have a small gig next Sunday where the small footprint GK 212 vertical cab would be great. Hope I get it in time.

Much more so after the plane crash. It was so badly damaged it was almost amputated. As a result he adapted his playing to accommodate his lack of function and mobility. Also had that odd metal loop to help with the angle. Or he wanted to look like Wyman. ;)

That's great new! Kind of. Hate that you have cabs that don't work for you.

I have come to the conclusion that cabs maybe more important to tone than heads--at least you can adjust amps. I had a problem years ago and was trying various heads and my problem was cabs not heads. Had a cab that sounds different from your wants (some pronounced baked in sound), and no head will fix that. Kind of wish I had an one of my Ampeg 3Pros back. Not that I need it, but it would have sounded great with the current cabs.

For something really small you could try the Ampeg 210. Only played one in the store, but those who have them love them. Irv has one as I recall.
