That's why the bigger case. :smug:

I kind of like the look of overkill.

Interesting that the new ABM's case is a little more deep.

With your Input Gain up that high how are you not constantly pegging the VU?
With my Lull I can get it to about 9:30 before I'm pegging the meter.

With some minor adjustments - I'm about here.

With the 300 having more signal going to the tube, I actually backed it off a good bit and still get some breakup. I also play pretty lightly. When playing I'm likely hardly hitting the red any. But that will depend on the bass. In fact, I thought my old 500 might not be working because when I get a chance to look at the meter it doesn't do much. But I intentionally began to look while during a song and it was moving more than I thought. But with the 300 IV like your's, there will be no need to go that high on the gain/input since the new design is already dong that. At least on the tube side, and that is always on even if not breaking up I like what it adds.

Thanks for posting your EQ. I want to try what you and Chuck are doing using the shape. Is that what you use live and not at home or rehearsal?

One of those applications where LED banks plain don't cut it.....
Interestingly on the RM 300, there is a green light that flashes in the meter when you have a strong signal. I think it flashes orange if hitting too much into the red. Kind of a cool feature. Not likely something a pro would want.

I keep the Shape button in the "Out" position at all times, I'm working with my '64 II now because it's going to our next show, the pickup is bassy so I'm tweaking the eq a little....

I’m finding on my ABM HOD this is definitely what works for me. I like the depth it adds and I dial in any mid I need with on-board eq and, if necessary, an eq on my pedalboard.
I'm going to have to experiment. Sounds so counter intuitive to boost the bass and treble and suck the mids out with the shape, then add them back in. But I'm game. Sometimes counter intuitive works. When I used my old Peavey Mk III I blended the channels and the Para channel looked like a blind person just turned knobs. No one ever mentioned it, but any bass players likely thought I wasn't using that channel or was an idiot. I can confirm it that it was likely the latter--but it sounded fantastic.
