Thunderbird Club

The one on the right is making me moister than an oyster
Speaking of moister than an oyster, this (my best player) might just keep you primed on Thunderbird Thursday…

You seriously need to play this one, don’t be deceived by the Pickup locations, it’s very articulate with plenty of top end, and of course massive bottom end.

Or if a fiver is more up your alley…

Mine is an Epiphone 60's...or thats what GC told me.
The Epi s/n lookup says its a '22 made in Indonesia.
It did not come with a case and I prefer to use gig bags for the schlepability factor. SO:
I need a gig bag asap. Anyone have a recommendation?
How about pickups? Are there any recommended replacement pups? I haven't taken it on a gig yet,.. IDK how these pups will work out...so this is an info only request for now...
Those pickups are actually very good at cutting thru the mix, lots of grit grind and growl with the proper amp settings, not quite as much bottom end as the newer ‘64 pickups but still very good. Others will chime in on the best gig bag.

I’m not into gig bags, but others here are and should have suggestions. There are some here who have the bag that came with the newer 64’s, but don’t use it. Maybe you can make a deal with someone for one?

I found one on the Reverb Marketplace for $90 from a store in NJ. Ad says 3" padding and will fit 50" x 14" so it should be ok.
Thanks!

Can't make a suggestion on the gig bag, try the pickups out under several different circumstances and don't be shy about adjusting you eq, it's not a Fender. Most folks here like the stock pickups, that said, there are a lot of choices for replacements should you wish to - cross that bridge when you get to it.

Thank you TBird1958!
...and I did find a 50"x14" (internal) gig bag.

I have one of these and it fits my 2017 Epiphone VP with a touch of room to spare. Someone else here just got one as well.

IMO those are nice sounding pickups and would not be difficult to sell if you end replacing them.
