Thunderbird Club

Quick question for you TBird gurus: would you recommend moving the strap buttons? I’ve seen people make two changes that look interesting: (1) on the bottom/bridge side: moving the button several inches above the body centerline; and (2) moving the button from the back (where a bolt on neck plate would be) to the top/frontfacing edge. Thanks!
I wouldn't do either of those. Where they are from the factory has worked fine for me.

@TBird1958
you think they may still have this?:drool::drool:

I seems to have sold, but I invite you to fly up for a weekend of touring the shops and good food - Raw Oysters are mandatory :drool:
That still proved to be an expensive visit as it cemented my obtaining an EB-3, which I dearly love. There were some cool Guild Hollowbodies at The Bass Shop last week! and I see cool stuff on Mike and Mike's, plus we could take your '64 here: Riggio Custom Guitars and get a refin started.

Quick ABM (for Thunderbirds) update. Got the new one from MF yesterday. Much more quite. Very slight sound where you know it's on, but that's it. Nothing like the buzzing before. Just it time to grab it for rehearsal using the same Jbass I used Sunday for a good comp. Noticeably more mids (nothing honky), and more punch, and noticeably not as big sounding as the older 500. A little brighter as well. More tube sound as well on the 300. Sounded great. I like big, thick bass so I'll have to do some different EQing, but will have to do so in a way that I don't cover up that nice punch. Normally I have the shape (scoop) disengaged and the bass may be flat or 1:30 at times depending on the bass. I was more at 2:30 by the end of rehearsal. That J definitely sounded better with the 300 then it did with the 500 Sunday even though it wasn't quite as big sounding. Last Sunday the J could've used a little more punch and 300 certainly provided that.
