Thunderbird Club

Mahogany Monday.....

Akyroyd actually played harmonica IIRC.

They both sang.

Maybe not great musicians... but musicians.

I remember songs like "Rubber Biscuit" getting airplay.
They were fun to watch. And showed what talented guys they were. The band seemed to enjoy the ride with them. Dunn was a superstar who finally got the recognition he deserved.

Now time to see the Spinal Tap reboot.

It's nice to see a major release with a non-reverse in the front cover.

Not as good recording as Leeds, Young Vic or San Francisco '71 but it's "the 'orrible 'Oo" and it's great! And John's bass sounds superb.
had such an interesting right hand fingerstyle technique with the bass strapped up high like that.....looks (clearly not to him) uncomfortable ymmv..

Was it as high as the bass player for Timbuk3? That cat had it almost tucked under his chin.
Or Jaco, or Paul Denman of Sade, even Chris Squire (who played with a pick!), although conducive to better pizzicato (for me) playing, the goofy look disqualifies that (wearing) position for me....shallow? perhaps, at least here...
