Thunderbird Club

Or Jaco, or Paul Denman of Sade, even Chris Squire (who played with a pick!), although conducive to better pizzicato (for me) playing, the goofy look disqualifies that (wearing) position for me....shallow? perhaps, at least here...
It's not just the look, that's just too high for comfort for me. Both hands end up in unnatural positions. Painful and problematic -- as well as goofy looking (IMO, obvs).

Not sure what that is, but saw somewhere that EMG is the only company making replacements that fit.
I thought that Chrysler/Dodge made a 442 hemi (hemispherical head) engine in the late 60s, but it was actually the 426. There were rumors (or mis-namings) of a 442 hemi, but no such engine ever ran in a race car or street production vehicle, AFAICT.

Mahogany Monday?

Had this been a 4 string I’d likely still have it.

Olds four-barrel carburetor, four-speed manual transmission, and dual exhaust

…and the Olds 442 didn’t refer to ci
Yup. Although at least it made sense once explained, vs a Ford 500. Or the execrable Mazda model numbers. I love Mazda, but their model "names" just suck. Other than the Miata. Which for a while wasn't even the official name (MX-5) here.

Hence (I think) the proper name:

Oldsmobile Four-Four-Two.
I can where the confusion can come from as there are many Fords, Chevys, MOPAR, AMC etc that are configured with a 4BBL, 4 speed manual and dual exhaust including this guy....

so you may ask, what do you call an auto Olds 442?, some try to say the redundant "4" would have applied to the four bolt mains but I don't think the Olds 330 or Olds 400 had them...heck, this 66 came stock with a six pack so, so much for that other "4"....as you can see, quite a bit of fudge in the 442 moniker....

though you may have been talking motors...

So, the belly cut on a reverse, when there is one, seems pretty subtle/shallow, compared to an NR.

And really shallow compared to an FSO.

Seems like it mainly continues the line of the thickness of the upper and lower bouts thru the thicker waist.

Hard to find photos that really show it, but on this body, seem like only maybe 4 or 5 mm at the deepest point of the edge?

And biased well tailward?

Approximately so:

Still MX-5 here.

Mazda’s sedan naming system is quite clever. It was to force you to say Mazda all the time, instead of Capella or 323, you have say Mazda3. It all went west when the crossovers/SUV’s were introduced though… back to just saying CX-3 without the Mazda.

We used to have Mazda light bulbs here, back when Mazda’s company name was Toyo Kogyo.
