Yes, i love volume only basses. Also in my 40 years of playing, i've always had my tone knobs full on. (volume too for that matter). Hate the idea of playing with a pot knob somewhere between 0 and 10...gimmie 10 all day, every day....beautiful bird by the way, that color is crazy awesome
Far too much zing for me but to each their own!

My self-modified P Bass of Doom is a 3-pickup bass with 3 volumes no tone, other than 2 phase switches.

No Tone pot on the new Brooks bass either. Just a Volume knob and a Kill switch!

So after lots of delay I have another update on this thing:

Controls are just volume-volume as I have almost never used the passive tone control on any bass I've had in 30+ years of playing. I probably need to get busy shielding it, as it's a little on the noisy side, but otherwise I'm super happy with the results here.
How are you liking that Ray Ross bridge?

Thank you for the kind words, it's just a shell pink from Rustoleum that I grabbed in Home Depot. I was inspired to do the pink + white pearloid pickguard from a bass (Lakland jazz-style?) I saw on here years ago.

Short answer is that it's too soon to tell. I just finished fixing my soldering mistakes earlier today, so this is the first time I'm even hearing it through an amplifier. I picked the Ray Ross as it could replace the stock bridge while getting the action correct without having to drill out for threaded inserts or whatever they are called for the conventional Gibson-style bridge. So far it's been fine, but I'm eager to bring this bass to rehearsal and see how it does. I'll keep y'all posted.
