In Detroit (GM) all week....happy Mahogany Monday all!
Yes indeed. Paul had one of those sounds that by itself would not have sounded as good as many or what most shoot for, but it fit what they did beautifully.
All ARS guys highly under appreciated due to lack of long term commercial success. Fantastic players. I think of them like the Eagles. Great players who could have played many more notes, but knew as well as any how not to play even though they could have done so.

...never a big fan, looks ok with some natural, black or white finishes....looks way too "stradivariousey" on a sunburst finish with a rosewood fb for me.....never really my cup of tea ymmv.....hey still waiting for that clip.....

He kept some parts: but I have those in stash.
The headstock was broken off, and we agreed to further violation : lopped the neck off near the body.
The headstock is intact (and will be used as a template for future projects)
Can’t wait to dig in.
Considering making it a three pickup “Trio Bird” with Epi ProBuckers 760s I have on hand

Bob Burns was still the drummer when I saw them (Nov 73, Sep 74), but yeah, Artimus was great. I probably should have said "The rhythm section was the ocean".
I’m anxious to see how you do the project as I bought a similarly broken ‘17 VP a couple years ago thinking about trying to make a II of some fashion. I have a IV neck with the wide nut (which I don’t mind at all) or it could get a J neck. Once you’re in the IE, we’ll see about you helping with the project. Three pickups might also be fun…maybe a mudbucker of some flavor at the neck? Or something of Matt’s in it. About the only thing I’m certain about is that it’ll be PB. I have a beater Squier Affinity PJ hanging around that will be my first attempt at a refinish to see what I can learn.
The Palm Desert location is imminent, offer is being submitted tomorrow, 45 days or less to close, sale of Diablo Grande property within 14 days. Storage local to Sun City has been contracted, first loads next weekend.
The new home has a garage with a separate evaporative cooler, sufficient space for the shop.
In preparation for the move I’ll be divesting some of the herd, the Tbird flock will stay.

Anyone need an office in Memphis? Apparently, our company owns an office strip mall, at least according to the notice to appear. I guess either the owner transferred the dump into our company name or the court and city are hitting what's in the evidence locker.
