Thunderbird Club

I recall Carlo mentioning that Gibson used a timer to wind pickups, which would account for a lot, I went through two to get a decent replacement for my green '76, the first one I found was hopelessly weak.
Well, I don’t know what mojo is in the one that Chuck gave me.
But if that was the only pick up in my TBird, I’d be more than satisfied.
Granted I do love the TBuckers I bought from Ken.
That Sidewinder I got from C.P. Is the fashizzile.

beats all TBirds in ergonomics imho........

I have to start looking around. I've been to the DB forum and had some rec's for a Vic, I think?...
So far there's been only one recommendation for an expensive, must-have system, but for now I'll be using a SansAmp BDDI into my old Hartke Kickback 12.
There was a Full Circle already on my bass when I got it. I would like a clicky pickup one day, but that is down on the list of things to spend money I don’t have yet on. Pretty much any piezo should work. A Full Circle just has it embedded in a bridge adjuster. I probably wouldn't have spent the money on one if the bass didn't already have it.

Putting a tennis ball under the bridge has been a key to taming feedback when it gets good and loud.

Ok, that does it. I haven’t played a Bicentennial Bird yet and the curiosity is killing me. They are unique sidewinder pickups wired completely different from any other bird, so I gotta believe there’s some interesting tone options that might be difficult to get on other non bicentennial birds. I obviously can’t just go to the store to try one out so I’m reaching out to you guys for enlightenment.
@TBird1958 Tell me how it differs in sound and feel from your metal can equipped 2021 NR Gibby
@MCF tell me how it differs in sound and feel from your DeCola equipped 2015 Gibby
@Chucky Stiletti tell me how it differs in sound and feel from your TB+ equipped NR
Any other Bi players feel free to chime in with thoughts and observations.

There’s always a small handful of these on the market and all are continually going up in value, just looking for insight from actual users to see if I should consider jumping in the bicentennial pool while the price is where it’s at.
a little clip of this one trick pony...into a Little MB 800, a MB 2x10" and an Ashdown 1x15"...all controls dimed, Dunlop 73 Nylon....

fried bread...forgot about that, you guys don't do beans? Looks scrumptious!
Not fried bread, toasted and buttered sourdough, Bacon, eggs, tomato. Very generous serving at this cafe - one of my mates cousin owns it. We have caught up there a few times now. Unfortunately, closing down next week as they need more time for family matters as the Mum is quite elderly.

I couldn’t face lunch, just had an orange!

I should add: if I had gone for a “Big Breakfast”* it would also have stuff like baked beans and mushroom, often hash browns and sometimes spinach. As well as the stuff on my plate.

* common terminology across the majority of local cafes

Reminds me of meeting my cousin in London. He was President of Heinz Europe. He sent his driver to pick me up at the hotel. I saw a guy in the lobby carrying a Heinz sign. I walked up to him and said "are you the ketchup guy?" His reply was, "no sir, baked beans."

Sounds great! I’m just about sold. In the four years they made them I think they came in black, white, Tobbaco burst and natural. I’m feelin a lotta love for the black and white ones.
The search is almost on!
I’ve heard from you, Donnie and Veronica, just need Marshall to try and talk me down - heck, that enabler isn’t gonna let that happen. @MCF how does your Bi compare to your 2015?

While we don’t have a Thunderbird Rd, a local suburb has its streets named for planes.
So, Spitfire Drive, Hurricane Dr, Sopwith Ave, DeHavilland Crescent etc.

Another nearby suburb has its streets named after cars.
So, Pontiac Place, Bugatti Drive, Singer Place that type of thing.

My suburb theme is Shakespearean Characters.
So, Desdemona, Iago, Romeo, Juliet, Cleopatra, Hamlet, Othello etc.
The suburb we adjoin is Dickens, so they have Copperfield, Crispsparkle, Micawber etc
